All of a sudden, the table has no sound. It used to when the initial release came out. Trid the latest rev as well, problem remains.

Could someone please test Dolly and post if they have sound or not?

Thanks

Sounds are working for me.

Try adding this line to the script right after Line 60, in case there is a sound mod out there that shuts off the rom sounds, and doesn't turn them back on with table exit.

        .Games(cGameName).Settings.Value("sound") = 1

If this works, then I may need to search my sound mods and see if I ever used this rom with a sound mod table, and forgot to turn rom sounds back on with table exit possibly.

I dont recall ever making  a sound mod with this rom, but I am getting old, and that is the first thing that goes...the brain, lol

Thanks for the reply. I added the line, and still no ROM sounds. I might add that every other table I have tried seems to be playing ROM sounds correctly. Just not this one. Any other ideas?

Sounds like a proper reset of the table is the next step you should try.

https://vpinball.com...ble-to-default/

Played it yesterday and no issues here. Important though. If you open tables by "File->Open" too many times in a row. You often end up with non working sound. Make sure that you exit completely from time to time.

I like this table a lot, and recently went to play it, and I had no sound too. Turns out somehow I lost a file in the samples. Look into that

Was not aware we needed samples. Might someone be able to send it to me?

Just download the samples from this page: Getting Started, Essential Files, Sound Samples (required). And copy the file, s3250u3.zip, in to your Samples folder.

Then Run the game, press F1, and make sure Use Sound and Use Samples are selected.

You can also press F6 and choose the kind of sounds you prefer, chimes, noises...

Hmm. I keep forgetting those samples. It really should be distributed together with the one-in-all installer. Maybe it is ?

It is distrubuted with the All-In-One Installer.

He says this is the only table that doesn't have sound, so if it was the samples pack missing, you would think all of his old bally tables would be missing sounds.

Oddly enough. There is not even the samples folder in VP or in VPM directories. I do remember in the past, that we did you the samples folder. Anyway, I created a samples folder, loaded the samples and stuck it in both directories to see if Dolly would play sounds. Nope...still no sounds. I checked table properties and sounds and samples are checked.

Just weird!

The samples folder should be in your VPinMAME folder.

Leave the sound samples pack zipped.

You may need to run setup.exe for PinMAME and add the path to samples folder by clicking setup paths.

This is not reinstalling pinMAME, but only setting up path to samples folder.

Ok just tried this too, along with the registry trick. Still no sound for Dolly. And yes, similar Bally games all have sound.

Weird!

BTW, I have VPM 2.9 loaded. Quick and maybe stupid question on VPM install. There is a setup and a setup64 .exe.

Should I be using the setup64 for my cab which is running on W10 64? I thought I recall reading to not use setup64 at all. Could be wrong.

Oh and the samples zip is unblocked too.

NO - don't use the 64 bit yet. There is still to many things that required 32bit for that to be used :)

Still having no luck here.

Gonna also try the registry clean mentioned earlier again and see. Next thing I guess is to do a clean install of VP. Any other ideas?

A uninstall of VP and re-install into same path as before via one-in-all is often a good solution. But, I'm don't know. You seem to always run with anti-virus so maybe that is the culprit once again ;-)
