Phase 4 has to be a 6-ball Fast Frenzy once the Showdown is complete.

By any chance, do you know how Fast Frenzy scoring works?

Hi Pinballwiz,

the scoring is mainly based on the droptargets down at the moment, the jackpot is collected.

D = DT down (10 if all 6 are down; D is at least 1, as a DT hit is needed to enable the Jackpot)

S = number of balls at Fast Frenzy start

B = number of balls on the table

T = total Fast Frenzies and Secret Manias so far

Jackpot = 1Mio * D * S * (B+T)

I can start a redraw with and detailed table rules and startegies by Erik Mooney and Jonas Martinsson.

Hi.  Erik here, I should be able to help with any rules questions if needed. :)

  • Hitting loops adds 2 "locks" for Add-a-Ball. When a ball drains after the Ball Saver expires, the Mystery target will start flashing. You can continue to add balls until there is a maximum of 6 in play.

There is no ball locking in Ultimate Showdown.  Hitting the Mystery target just adds a ball if there are fewer than 6 on the table and you have at least one reserve ball remaining.  Your reserve balls are equal to the number of your Showdown Spheres.  There isn't any way to get more reserve balls during Showdown.

PL 6: Super Ball Rescue (Kickback stays lit for the current Ball) OK

Important detail: when Space Station Frenzy ends, Super Ball Rescue ends too.

Darn. Now you're making me want to fix my PlayStation just for this. My Ultimate Showdown knowledge is bleak apparently.

Hi Erik,

great that You are showing up here! As the Ultimate Showdown is the last mode that I am not completely sure of, here is my understanding so far:

6 Ball Multiball
30s Ball Saver
All Switches are 1Mio per Showdown Sphere  * (1 + US successfully completed)
Mystery-Target relaunches drained Balls (one per Reserve Ball)
Reserve Balls equals the number of Showdown Spheres collected
Spinner hits count as one hit for point score, no spins

Phase 1: 150-200 Switch Hits
Phase 2: Spinner (100 Spins? -> 3-4 full Spinner hits) - only one Spinner is active, Mystery-Target changes the active one

Phase 3: Finish Her (Mission Hole?) - awards 1.000.000.000 points * (1 + US successfully completed)
Phase 4: Start 3-Ball Fast Frenzy (or is it a 6-Ball Fast Frenzy?)

A failed Showdown deactivates Super Ball Saver

Regards

Michael

I don't know how long phase 1 lasts.

Phase 2 requires 4 orbit shots.  Just hitting the spinner isn't enough.  I think you get credit if the ball reaches the top of the table, doesn't have to go all the way around the orbit to the opposite spinner.  Only one orbit is active at a time.  Hitting a lit orbit or the lit Mystery target changes the active one.  (If Mystery is unlit because all 6 balls are on the table or you have no reserve balls remaining, it does not change the active orbit.)

Phase 3 is one shot to Mission Start, yes.

Phase 4 is indeed a 6-ball Fast Frenzy.

Hi,

Zany made the big UFO and the flipper primitives. The playfield redraw is almost ready. At the moment I am starting with the video mode.

Keep in mind, there actually was a top down view that was never implemented in the game:

And here's the highest view (which looks more like a medium):

Hi,

the TD image was my start for the redraw. Without that it would have taken ages just to get the dimensions right.

Fetaure update: Video Mode is coded and the basic animations and sounds are implemented. I am working to get it stable with UltraDMD at the moment.

great that You are showing up here! As the Ultimate Showdown is the last mode that I am not completely sure of, here is my understanding so far...

I played "The web" countless hours and days :lusty: ...

... but I never became an very skilled player...

... and I didn´t know much about all the rules and the points and stuff like that... :twiddling:

... I were just amazed about all the "blink-blink", the eyecandy and the cool sounds / music... that was just fine for me!!!

If you could just bring this table back to life and it has "only" 50% of all the correct rules and modes - I would be VERY VERY pleased!!!! :love39:

(But if you could do nearly ALL of the authentic rules - I would be VERY pleased too!!!)

I just want to say:  I would prefer to play it on a lower level, instead of never playing the 100% authentic table...)   - just my 50cents

Thx all of you for all your FANTASTIC works :love39: :love39: :love39:

If you need any testers, let us know. (Maybe more so @vikingerik and Tarek; they're even better.)

Hi,

I have the video mode stable. I think I will release a version 0.9 before Christmas for You to test. With the input of Pinballwiz and Vikingerik I think, I have the rules at 95%. Not all the animations and callouts are in but playing the table is real fun. And You can play in FS mode too.

The things that can be done with Ultrapeepi's DMD module are incredible. I am not sure if he intended the way I am using it, but I achieved all my goals. So, thumbs up for Ultrapeepi!

Regards

Michael
