Seems like nobody is having a problem with this table yet...In my 3 screen cabinet, it plays fine for me out of Virtual Pinball, but if I run it in Hyperpin it doesn't work. I don't get any error message (not one I can see anyway, even with alt tabbing to find it) but sometimes the loading table screen doesn't go away, other times it does and the table shows up but none of my buttons register (again, even when I alt tab through to make sure I'm at the actual table) and sometimes the table loads but hyperpin stays as the active window and when I alt tab to the table itself, buttons don't register.

I'm running windows XP, a pair of geforce 9800 1gb video cards, and I've never had an issue running any tables, maybe some very minor ball stutter at the start of the game in the ultra graphic intensive monopoly, but otherwise, I can run pretty much anything just fine. I'll continue to troubleshoot, but I'm initially at a loss here.

The regular b2s scared stiff ran fine as well.

Two things maybe to check. I don't user Hyperpin, but from what I've read here at the VP site, you need to make sure that the option to launch the B2S from the script is set to false (it's defaulted to true in the file) so unless you changed that, I think that could be causing issues. Secondly, I think because of the automatic B2S launch and however that works in Hyperpin, that it is done somehow by matching names, so, you'll have to copy the ScaredStiff_FS_B2S.exe to a new file and name it to match the ScaredStiff_FS_B2S_GI8.vpt exactly - see also my notes on the header of this table download topic / first post. Also, you can try changing the B2SLaunchDelayTimer.interval value from 1000 to 2000 or 3000 to give you another second or two before the BG tries to load and certainly try and see what happens in your set-up with disabling the B2S altogether from the script to troubleshoot what you get from that.

Try these ideas out and hopefully you'll get it sorted.

Well I tried thing two and no help...thing one I'm a little confused about. Are you saying I should go into the table script and set the launch b2s to false? All my other b2s tables work, and the previous b2s version of scared stiff worked as well without doing this.

I did change the name of the table to ScaredStiff_FS_B2S.vpt so that it would have the same name as the exe...I tried it the other way around (changing the exe to include the GI8 but that gave me the error at line 0.

I've checked further and it seems that actually alt tabbing to the .vpt does let me play the table...so this is more of a window focus issue. The focus seems to be defaulting to the rom when the table loads...but again, I don't have this problem with any other table, b2s or otherwise. I'm out of time to test tonight, but I'll try again tomorrow. If I'm the only one having this issue, so be it...I'll just miss out on the light show...but maybe other people will have this issue too.

Ok...I don't understand why it worked, but it worked...I went in and changed that launch backglass from true to false, and now it works. Don't understand why all my other b2s tables work without doing this...but as long as it works, it works...so if anybody else has this trouble, do what jimmy said and change the true to false in the table's script where it asks to launch backglass.

Opposite with me - everything since Flash_B2S (the pin) came out I do not change to false. Everything before that table requires me to change to false to work.

Gave this a whirl last night. AMAZING!!!! Excellent work.

I am running the B2S on my cab, set to false of course- he hee - and using scott's layback settings. It is trememndousand stutter free(i never did have stutter, but just mention that in case others have it).

I am looking forward to the others getting this upgrade, makesit much more fun. I like the dragon ramp underlight and when the table dims. That is cool!

Thanx for this!!!

Awesome.
I knew I could not try this until after work today so I waited on the download.
Glad I did.
Can't wait to try this out even though I am not a big fan of dark tables.
It looks really good. smile.gif

So any help would be appreciated, I have no issue starting table through hyperpin, but when I close the table the B2S backglass stays untill I open and select and close another B2S table ( badcats, Time Machine etc).

IF I change the backglass script to false then I only see my regular image from hyperpin, not the B2S one. Gameplay is fine.

Thanks a million!

Make sure that if you set the backglass to false that you have the .exe and the .vpt file names exactly matching. I beleive that's how hyperpin can launch it when the script isn't doing so.

Just tried it out a few minutes ago.
Fantastic light show dblthumb.gif
I do wish however that the circle in the center of the playfield and the remote between the flippers were not so dark.
When I first fired up the table that was the first thing I noticed, the black line from the center circle to the remote control.
Otherwise I love it.

Yes the names of the table and the backglass must match exactly. But they must also end with B2S or HP will not launch the backglass program.

I'm having a little difficulty with this table. For whatever reason, I get an out of memory error, followed by a few other errors that report line 0. The previous Scared Stiff B2S works fine, but not this one. I tried it from HyperPin and directly from Visual Pinball - no difference.

Am I missing something simple, I wonder?

Look through all the posts about help with getting the B2S portion working. Make sure you can get the base version of Rosve's Scared Stiff B2S working with the backglass and follow the instructions from all the previous posts in this thread for naming conventions when using with Hyperpin, making sure you have the b2s.vbs located in same directory as the game as well as the screenres.txt file, and the other tips regarding getting B2S working.

I had no issue running Rosve's Scared Stiff B2S - it's one of my favorite and most played tables, but I can't get this one going for some reason. It'd be nice if VP would give a better error. The line 0 error message is pretty much useless.

From what I gather, it's something in a secondary file. I wonder if maybe my b2s.vbs isn't new enough, or something...Maybe I'll look into that.
