Anyone else getting an access violation when UVP starts up on this table? I may just disable it as it seems it doesn't do much?

Also great job on the table it looks and plays beautifully!!

yep, me too. Although the FPLaunch i'm using in hyperpin seems to cover up the error dialog right away, and it plays fine, so i can ignore it, but it would be nice to fix…

btw, I'm using the 2 screen version

First off thanks JP for another awesome table. Your work is greatly appreciated amongst all of us!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that for some reason this table stutters quite a bit (for me at least).

I am running a 3 monitor cabinet setup with VP 9.11 (Alpha ramps turned down to 30%). Core 2 Extreme 3.2Ghz, 4Gb DDR, GTS250 1gig, GT210 512MB, Nvidia 256.98 drivers.

Pretty much all the other JP games run smooth except this one... Anyone else having this problem?

Great work JP!!!

Nos.

Funny thing happens when I add this table to Hyperpin Menu...I add the info in the .xml file and all the various media files in respective directories and when I try to launch X-Files it comes up with an error in Hyperpin "cannot find c:/visual pinball/tables/x-files.fpt...What the?!?!...its not a future pinball table but somehow hyperpin labels it as such...before you answer, yes the table is in the proper directory...yes, its named correctly with .vpt extension...yes, it runs flawlessly in Visual pinball without hyperpin in background...I even disabled future pinball in the hyperpin config file...oh, and by the way the other 93 tables that i use hyperpin to launch work perfectly...please help. thanks.

Sounds like the name is incorrect in the .xml file.

The original name of the FS version of JPs release is X-Files_vp91x_1.0FS.vpt

so your Hyperpin visual pin dB entry should look like this:

<game name="X-Files_vp91x_1.0FS">
<description>UVP X-Files</description> ' this would be the name of your backglass/UVP/table pic and wheel.
<manufacturer>Sega</manufacturer>
<year>1994</year>
<type>SS</type>
</game>

I chose to rename mine since I added the UVP and like all of my UVP tables to flow after each other in the menu.

<game name="UVP X-Files">
<description>UVP X-Files</description>
<manufacturer>Sega</manufacturer>
<year>1994</year>
<type>SS</type>
</game>

Perhaps the moderator can move this thread to the vp help topic since its not a problem with JPs fine table.
If you still can't get it to work, jot down your xml entry.

Thanks for the quick reaponse LTA...my entry looks exactly like this....

<game name="X-Files_vp91x_1.01FS">
<description>X-Files (Sega 1997)</description>
<manufacturer>Sega</manufacturer>
<year>1994</year>
<type>SS</type>
</game>

the error I get is "cannot find d:\visual pinball\tables\X-Files_vp91x_1.01FS.fpt" when launching hyperpin (table name and game name re exactly alike as is file name in tables folder.
Same entry format for all my other tables, sorry, I only posted in this section since I considered it a support topic for this very fine table and thought it had something to do with the script of is particular table and thought maybe I wasn't the only one with problem.

I am sure its your filename that giving you a problem in Hyperpin.

The first release was : X-Files_vp91x_1.0FS.vpt
then JP release a bugfix: X-Files_vp91x_1.01FS.vpt

Make sure you have the right version in your tables folder. I would just rename it to something simple like below and then you will be 100% sure.
Mine works great with UVP no lag, no problem and I am using a modest config, so you should have no problem running this whatsoever.
Of course you need the backglass/table/wheel named X-Files (Sega 1997), but since you have other tables running in hyperpin I assume you know that.

Feel free to PM me if you still have problems, we'll get it working.

This is a really cool table, I am having an issue thought my dmd dosn't show up! It seems like it starts b/c I can hear the music but don't see a dmd!? Anyway to fix that? Also just a note .hidden= 0 is set and the dmd still doesn't show up.

Update: played with it for a little bit and figured it out!
