Now if only we could get some media packs for those old tables wink.gif.

Glad you solved it .. take a 'screenshot' and you'll have your Table image already! wink.gif

Cheers,
FD.

It looks like you have your DMD monitor set up as 2nd.
Playfield => 1st
Backglass => 2nd
DMD => 3rd

Go into 'Display Properties' and click 'Identify'

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
FD.

Thanks but I checked this and it looks right to me. My other tables (all SS of course) all work perfectly fine so not sure how those could work if it wasn't setup right. I will check it when I get home again tonight though. Thanks for your response.

I checked the backglass program code and I think I know what is happening on your system.
The backglass is not started on the second display, it is actually started on the first non primary display. This is normally the same as display 2 but if the screens are arranged in the multiple display setup like this, Screen1, Screen3, Screen2, then Screen3 is the first non primary display.

VP is using an even simpier technique to determine witch display to use. It goes for the first display in the display list, that is why the primary display must be to the left in the display setup.

Hi rosve - now that my cabinet build is in a playable state I have been setting up some if your great EM tables. Now that I have 3 screens I am getting the same problem where....

Playfield is DISPLAY1 (card 1)
DMD is DISPLAY2 (card2)
Backglass is DISPLAY3 (card 1)

In the windows display settings I just shifted the order to be 1-3-2 but your EM backglasses appear on the DISPLAY2. Now I have tried now for 2 weeks to get windows to assign the DEVICE NAMES (eg: DISPLAY1) in the right order. I have switched cards around, etc. With only one card the Playfield and Backglass are correctly assigned device names DISPLAY1 and DISPLAY2. As soon as I add the other graphics card they get assigned to DISPLAY1 and DISPLAY3.

I only got it to work by putting the backglass and DMD on the same graphics card but performance is not so good with this config. I even tried a utility called DISPLAY-CHANGER but that doesn't seem to work for me.

If anyone has any ideas then they would be appreciated.

Sorry for all the troubles that you have had with the backglass program. My cab is a 2 screen setup so I haven't really given 3 screen cabs much thougt.

After reading this post I did a little improvment in my program. You can now set the display number of the backglass screen. Simply add the display number on the last line in the ScreenRes.txt file. in your case it should look like this:
1280
720
1280
720
3

The first table that can read this setting is FACES but all my other tables will follow soon.
I am uploading the new updated FACES right now.

Many thanks rose for taking time to change your code.  I know it is impossible for you to test all configurations - I had the same problems with my screenshot generating program.

I will give faces a shot tonight when I get home from work and will let you know.

If this works it will mean I have a dream config setup for VP with UVP, VP with EM backglasses, and FP.  smile.gif

Hello rosve. I just tested your new Faces table that allows the monitor to be defined and it worked perfectly. As a reminder my DISPLAY1 is playfield, DISPLAY2 is DMD, DISPLAY3 is backglass. I set the backglass monitor number to 3 in the ScreenRes.txt file.

Many thanks again for taking the trouble to enhance your program. smile.gif

Thank you for testing it.
I am updating all my tables to read this new setting. Posted a new release of Grand Prix FS today, Sabbats Hokus Pokus is next.

Nice work !

But my FPLaunch being heavily modified (Pause button, loading screen, etc), replacing it is not an option.
To start the backglass automatically I added those lines to the VP script :

dim WshShell
Set WshShell = CreateObject("wscript.shell")
WshShell.Run "Hokus Pokus FS_VP911_B2S.exe"
Set WshShell = nothing

That way, I can have an automatic backglass even when the pin is not launched through Hyperpin.
Maybe it can be of some help to someone out there.

Thanks again.

Edit :
It seems that this workaround doesn't kill the backglass when exiting the table in hyperpin (wich has to be killed by pressing escape again)

If you have the latest FPLaunch from the HyperPin forum (with pause etc...), it will start the backglass for you.

You don't have to put that code in the script. If you download the latest update of Hokus Pokus, it already has a function for launcing the backglass from VP.

Thanks ! It seems I have to update my hyperpin script then, because mine doesnt launch the BG automatically.

Anyway, very nice to see at last some EM action out there !

Thanks rosve for the update. The new B2S system is running perfectly for me now on all tables I have tried. I know you have been super busy with all the updates, but have you plans to eventually update Strange World to the new system?

Great work, it really looks niche. I love these EP tables.
Used it within my Mini Cab. Works great with one player. But when I press the start button the second time a script error appears, telling me, that there is a problem in line 403 with the eval (....) statement (object necessary). Any idea what went wrong?
