Are you aware of the special openvr_api.dlls required for OpenComposite, using any other will create bright washed out tables?

Think I’m just sticking with my old build. I’m not understanding how to keep my old GL so that I can play the forbidden table for example but then have the rest of the tables open with this 64gl. There’s no way to tell popper what program to use, just what folder to look in. So when I put the VPinballX_GL64 file in, popper still looks for the non 64 version and I don’t see where you can even change that. I need to wait for an installer to come around, I’m not advanced enough and it’s getting a bit too complicated. I just want the backglass to work on my em tables…

No problem, if and when you change your mind here are some good links,

Thanks for this, I appreciate how helpful you have been, I was able to successful upgrade my system with this installer last month. All has been aswesome for 10.7. It's only when\ I have tried any other GL build than the 603 one, I have odd issues.

Feel free to join our VR Pinball Group Discord, lots of people there can help. You are correct though, the newer beta VR-GL builds have issues with tables that require the backglass  https://discord.gg/BcKvb3kG

I have asked before, but is there a good reason why there can't be a rotate textbox option with VPX.  It could make primarily desktop oriented tables play better in cabinet mode if the textboxes could be rotated.  Thanks

Best guess, because they are attached to the backdrop screen, which is normally displayed behind the table, only in desktop view.
Where would they go in cab view, even if they rotated?
I think you would have to make them a playfield object for it to work out right?

Remember how a lot of VP9 tables would use stickers on the backdrop to simulate a playfield object?
And if you adjusted the POV those stickers were in all the wrong places?

In my dream there is a feature to drag and drop these text boxes from table to backglass... just my imagination 😇

I read through this entire thread but didn't catch my answer so forgive me if I missed it. After updating to 10.8, my B2S is no longer working. Hope this is a quick/easy fix? Don't see any related setting in vpx editor under graphics options.

Have you tried to relaunch B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe and B2S_ScreenResIdentifier.exe after the upgrade? It might help.

Hi all,

I really enjoy the new beta but... with the new "escape/exit menu" it's not possible anymore to navigate with arrow, neither click directly on enter (the mouse is NEEDED absolutely).

is it definitely abandoned or maybe this (keyboard option) can come back in future revision ? this was a lot quicker an easier for me.

Thanks.

I just hit Q on the keyboard. but not sure if you use one? Maybe assign a button to Q?

ran the reg but I don't have a file called b2s_screenresidentifier.exe??? never had that before. still not loading b2s. was working fine before the update.

I noticed this since your post as well. But, if you use the editor, you properly want to use the mouse, right ? If I use only the player (cabinet or vr), its quiting without a mouse.
Thats why I didn't n9t8ce this before

OK now I'm in a bit of a panic why is my b2s not working? I have tried updating vpinmame, checked for settings in editor. Opened the b2s.exe and closed a couple of times. I don't know what else I'm supposed to do to get this to work again but I sure hope there is a simple fix to this as it was working yesterday. Hopefully someone can help me out here. why would updating vpx drop my b2s?

Hi...you probably checked this but Disable B2S isn't checked in the Preferences.  It is in the Configure Keys area.

Yesterday, I tried VPX 10.8 Beta 3 for the first time. I can install the programm and open a table without any problems. But when I hit F5, then Windows is saying "VPX.exe isn't working anymore...." and the programm crashes. It doesn't matter which table I load.

VPX 10.7.3 is working perfeclty without any problems.

I am still on Windows 7 64bit on my Cabinet. Maybe this can be the problem? Any help or any hint is appreciated.

Hi team, Apologies in advance if this is not the place to ask this question.

I am trying to port my Thunderbirds table from 10.7.3 to 10.8. I am using a playfieldmesh primitive with the playfield image assigned for the visuals for the playfield and I have the "Playfield" image set to a clear image. I did this so I can turn on and off the playfield during the game (there is a mode in VR that I need to disable all the images and make the pinball table disappear).

In 10.7.3 all works fine.

My issue is that with the above configuration, playfield lights (lights for targets, rollovers  etc - not normal globes etc) are no longer visible in 10.8. I am sure this is due to the playfield enhancements but I am unclear how to solve.

I have tried re-naming the playfieldmesh to playfield_mesh but that caused me some sound issues (continual rolling ball sounds in the background).

Is there a simple fix wither in script or the playfield/playfield_mesh settings that can assist me?

thanks in advance,

Yep, in my case, it's when you do some testing with tables in a cabinet, with keyboard and (not necessary) a mouse (the fact is that the mouse is rolling down the cabinet glass but the keyboard not that easily),

Hi,

Can we get more technical details on the new "Frame Pacing" options? Sounds interesting.

In my case I can't make the VPX8 work at all....

I load the program, I manage to open the table, but when I run the table, the message always appears that the program has stopped working and needs to be closed (windows message)...

maybe something is missing, I don't know... simply extract the files that come zipped and replace them in the Visual Pinball folder

this happens with all versions, beta1, 2 and also 3

I'm using windows 7 professional

Are you trying the dx9 or gl version ? 32 or 64bit ? Maybe visual c×× redist needs an update/ repair?
Anything in the eventlog that shows the problem ?

unchecked.

what frustrates me most is I downloaded 3 updated tables that are designed for vpx8 yet now the b2s continues to not load at all, not even on another screen. any other suggestions welcome.
