The problem is that you have to wait some seconds until you initiate a 'bring to top'. VP starts the player and initializes the COM interface. The COM interface executes the script which loads and starts the b2s dll/exe. So VP itself doesn't know when b2s is fully running and has stolen the focus. So a background worker thread must wait a user defined time until 'bring to top' should kick in.

Maybe the user could just enter their chosen time with the option?

'transmit' scales the light contribution that is seen on/through all the transparent objects, while 'modulate' blends between a modulation (0) and addition (1) of the 'normal' contribution (e.g. what is blended 'over' the objects).

both are hacks as we do not have a 'real' lighting engine yet for all the table lights. but its also much faster because of that.

Thanks Toxie.

So is a "real" lighting engine something thats being looked into? Or is that VP11 kind of stuff?

I would say it's definitely something for VP11.

Is there currently a Hotkey for "add point" to a wall, ramp or light etc?

If I am making a complex ramp or light, there will be a bunch of right clicking and selecting "add point". Would be nice if there was a hotkey to add the point right then and there. Maybe there is and I am just not seeing it.

Would also be nice if there were a pair of the above functions. One for NON smooth point. And one for smooth point.

In short, just wanting a way to more quickly add multiple points to an object.

There are a couple items in the bug tracker.  Is it preferred to just post here instead of there?  What works better for you devs?

Well I prefer the bug tracker but a lot of users just report bugs and features only here but I check the bug tracker from time to time. So if you add it to the bug tracker the feature/issue request doesn't get lost even when we don't look into it too frequently ;)

I like this idea :) Ability to add a smooth or unsmooth point with a hotkey

forceDisable i thought is not necessary then, as one can conveniently pick all things now in the menu. or is there some special case i missed?

as for not reloading the values: true, i just fixed it (d'oh!).

well, there is still the unfortunate case where b2s.server is installed, registered, no backglass is present and the disable b2s.server errors functionality is disabled (by default it is), then b2s.server will popup complain, so yes we would still need it

I use this all the time when i'm making tables on my laptop and testing b2s.  Normally have forceDisable=1 so it doesn't launch them, but when I want to test I change to =0 so it shows, so yes this is needed functionality, probably be used/changed far more than the others I would think.

yep, i almost forgot that was the reason the feature existed, and then it was abused because a lot of people had vpx installed with b2s while they weren't used b2s

maybe keys options is not the best place, maybe in video options?

Or just add a "DOF options" menu item and not have it under others to confuse people :)

rev2755 is up:

- add support for hotkey F10/F11 to add  unsmoothed/smoothed control points to walls, ramps or lights
- fix DOF controller settings not loading

added it as a checkbox in the DOF options (for now, until i feel like separating it into an extra menu entry ;))
