Okay so I am dabbling around with my 2001 EM table and adjusting my SSF, and there is an annoying "ka-chunk" sound effect tied to the reels that plays ONLY if you use the DB2S backglass. Turn the backglass off, no annoying sound.

Basically I am trying to get rid of this sound, but it does not appear to be in the sound manager and is somehow tied to the DB2S. Do the DB2S files have sounds embedded in them and if so, how do you get rid of them?

Thanks.

Its definitely a scoring dial sound effect, and its in many EM DB2S backglasses. So how do you turn that off?

B2S server does have a reel sound embedded into it.

since B2S server runs as its own EXE, you can probably find it in windows volume mixer
and drag its volume slider down

I believe b2s has a built in sound for the reels. I stumbled upon this .. see if it does anything.

Dim ReelClickVol :ReelClickVol=0.5

Could not find anything in the windows volume.

Not finding that in the script. Sure seems like the sound would be in the sound manager somewhere. But I cant find it. Any other ideas?

Also tried adding it. The Ka-chunk remains.

Durp!

Just did it. Ka-chunk is still there. Must be in the B2S code. I looked in the B2S designer and saw no mention of the sound. I might have a dated version though.

Next test .. not that it wont tell you anything you dont already know .. but take a SS backglass and rename it so it fires up on your EM pin. I would assume the sound doesnt get generated for the non reel lcd displays.

I will take a look. Right now, that sound effect is much too loud for my tuned SSF and simply needs to be reduced in volume or turned off.

Whos the developer around here for DB2S?

The sound is embedded in B2S Server, it plays every time a reel spins
Reach out to Jar he works on B2S Server
I thought he had made a way to turn off the sound? I may be wrong

I could have sworn I saw a post talking about EM dB2S Backglasses making a sound when reels are activated, that is built in to the dB2S Backglass.

I tried searching for it, but came up with nada.

I think the devs of the dB2S Backglass program were made aware of this, and were working on it, but I may be mistaken.

Jar did post something a while back about the reel sound
but i can not remember what it was to be honest

Whatever he posted would only have meaning though if someone had a newer b2s server installation.

Hi Jarr. I will try to log the concern since that appears to be the path. The request would simply be to have the option to turn the sound off within the Db2s files.

It would also be helpful if there were a volume control too. Thanks for chiming in. Your support for Db2s is very much appreciated.

maybe turn it off in script instead?

many people cant edit the backglasses
but they could probably manage to paste

CONST B2SAudio = 0

into the script?

I just placed this into an EM table script, and the Ka-chunk remains. I like saying  ka-chunk. LOL

Any others ideas to kill it off via the script? This would be fine for me until it can be addressed at the Db2s level.

Off topic, but people don't seem to understand the meaning of jarr3's user name and avatar... it is a reference to Jean-Michel Jarre (not jarr) :)
