Hello there. While i finish adjusting some little things before releasing the getaway, I've been doing something I think you will like:

bk2kwip1_t.jpg

I had to do this one. It's a very special pinball for me. I think this is the first pinball I played when I was a child, or at least is the first I remember. Very addicting and awesome music.
At the moment I'm using Francisco666 images (with permission, of course, Thanks dude)
BTW, the curves of the wood rails are made with 20 ramps each, it's soft now (no borders) Hope you like it.

The curves of the wood was the first I was looking at. They are looking awesome, Melon. Great stuff.

Wow, the colors are so vibrant and the graphics are crisp. This looks like this will be another showcase table!  I do so love watching my friends eyes bug out when they see tables like this.  Especially after the looks they give you the first time you try and describe the cabinet project to them! ;)

Very very bad news!

I've been working really hard on this one. With lower playfield almost finished and allready started the upper playfield, I saved the table and exit VP.

When loading again, I got this error: "This file is corrupt and can not be loaded"   :wimper:  :wimper:

Do you remember this? C'mon, is this a f** joke?

Sorry that you got nailed by this corrupt file bug Melon.  I too have been nailed by that bug a couple times which is why I took the advice from others here to save my work every 15 minutes or so to a bran new file.  I just put a number at the end like "...-0001.vpt, ...-0002.vpt, ...-0003.vtp," and so on so that I can go back to a previous version if I run into that bug again.

Best Regards,

Todd.

Bummer.  I used to get this quite often. I definitely do like Kruge says and save often with different names.  However, it seems one of the reasons it was happening was exiting too quickly after saving.  I would save and exit immediately.  Now I save and then wait a little while and exit.  Haven't had the corrupt file since.  Might be superstitious voodoo B.S. but it's worked for me :)

Hi Melon,

This happens to me ALOT!!! There have been a couple ways i have fixed ,it but not always.

1. Sometimes trying to open the file in another older version of VP works.

2. Sometimes this happens if i make a change VP doesn't like, for example, changing PF sizes to a size VP doesn't like, or changinf PF's with a new dimension or...... I try to change the dimension and reopen until it works.

3. Backtrack whatever you wee working on last and undo the change- you probably will forget what change, but if you remember try reverting back and seeing what happens. This has fixed it for me a couple times as well, when i remember...

I get in  a habit now of saving a new version table every so often, so today i work on Filename_Nov30a_2013, next Filename_Nov30b_2013, etc.....

What a hassle when this happens!!

Cheers,

Maceman

Try to load one of the autosave table files.
This happened to me and I only lost a little bit of work

this has been happening more often with beta builds, not sure why but your best bet is to hope it autosaved not to long before the issue

This has never happened to me, sometimes I lost my work because VP crashed before I saved, when I launch the rendering of the table.

With tables with many heavy images Vp crashes when saving automatically.
VP often loses focus, just click on the table to get it started.
Either I'm lucky or it's because I work with the official version of VP not with the beta development.

I'm sorry for what happened to you

Max

That's what happened! I saved the file and exit too quickly.

I have autosave turned off (really don't know why), and as many of you suggest I use to have backup files, but in the last backup I made the table is in a very first stage.

But no problem for me. Let's do this again. So this is what I have been doing:

I used to get corrupted files often with the older vp versions esp vp9.0.7

I have over ten such bad file saves all from various wips' I worked on over the past few years

one being an 85 meg wip that is now kaput! since I too had at one time turned off the autosave feature

now I save each time I do anything to a pin even just adding script or a pf light

those corrupted file saves are impossible to do anything with just delete it and start over

then I make a copy of that save onto my desktop changing it when I resave the wip

so yes after making a pin I may have twenty or such saves all numbered so I can tell which is the newest one

sucks to be sure and it seems to happen randomly to me anyways

so remember to save and save often!! making copies of the wip if need be
