File Name: Medieval-Madness_Night Mod_VP916_V1.2_FS

File Submitter: Aaron James

File Submitted: 05 May 2013

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): JP Salas, Aaron James
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 2013
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

This is yet another "night mod" for you guys. I'm sooo happy JP Salas allowed me to do this modification.
Many images were changed / altered. Some physics of the table also changed.
I had a lot of fun "remixing" this table. All honor goes to JP.
This table plays a lot like the night mod of Attack From Mars.
Remember, if you are not using the db2s, you will need to change the script to either "uvp" or "controller"
Also, this is automatically set up for the "profanity" rom.
Cheers,
Aaron James

This mod was actually a much needed one in my opinion. With the newer LED monitors, like the ones i'm using for cab builds, they are very bright even when you adjust their settingss. When you have a table like MM with all of it's bright, colorful artwork...it becomes to much and needs to be toned down.

I have yet to try this mod, I will tonight, but if it's anything like AJ's AFM night mod...i'm sure it will be the one I play over the original. I love JPs work and with the small touch's AJ adds, it's really a great alternative and valued contribution.

Now we need a Night Mod HP wheel image. :)

The table looks great, but the flashers flare out and seem overpowering - is there a easy fix for this?

They are supposed to flare out and they are supposed to be very overpowering, just like real flashers. I didn't change the type of flasher from jp's original/update, only the color.

just tried this table today. Looks fantastic.

Great work.

I did however change the flipper physics to match that of the new Cactus Canyon mod.

I think it plays much better now.

Keep these night mods coming. :)

Very cool Arcade4.

I usually don't fluctuate from table to table with my preference of physics settings.

They should be very consistant actually :-)

UPDATED TO VERSION 1.1

(July 24th, 2013)

What's New in Version 1.1 (See full changelog)

  • Update 1.1
  • Re-worked physics of the table.
  • Modified all alpha ramp flahsers to "additive bi".
  • -This makes them more transparent/natural imo.
  • Modified lock gate (removed skull)
  • Colorized apron.
  • *I saved this with VP 9.1.6 rev 622, so I'd recommend using that version. (It is found in Koadic's daily builds, found in his signature on this forum)

Aaron great job on updating these tables and making the night mods for them. I was wondering since you are under the hood, if you could add the plunger support as you update the tables? Programmer I am not, and I failed miserably when trying to add it myself.

I do have a solid cab with a wide variety(130 tables) of VP/FP tables now, and can only offer my ability to test tables 2-3 hours each day if needed.

By plunger support, you mean adding Koadic's alpha ramp plunger to games that have a plunger, but when you play the table in VP you have to use the enter button ?
I've been tinkering around with addams family and bride of pinbot, and have added Koadics plunger to both.
It makes a HUGE difference and is very accurate.

I'll always add the new updated plunger to games I mod if they require a plunger :-)
