Scared Stiff Elvira Bally Flasher Object MOD FOM

Screenshots
Here is a flasher object mod (FOM) for the Bally game "Scared Stiff".

First off many thanks to the developers who continue to enhance VP and allow some of these cool new effects.
Also to JPSalas for being kind enough to allow me to mod his original release of this table.

These two archives contain Day and Night versions of the same mod both in sunken and flush perspectives.  (Download your desired view and light state).

At around line 43 in the script you will find a variable named

Const RibFlashers = 0

Disabled by default this variable when set to 1 will render highlights on the ribs of the snake ramp on the playfield.  The highlights are based on reflections from the claw lamps that surround the playfield.   It may be a bit much for some folks so it's disabled by default.

These tables were authored with final version of VP921 but I recommend running it in DX9 version test 8 for an excellent performance boost.

The standard vpinmame controller is set in the script so you'll need to change that if you want to run directb2s.

Have a nice weekend and I hope you enjoy. - Dozer.

I am having bad artifacting with this version of SS and MM.

Luckily, I am able to run the TOTAN fine - go figure.

FWIW:

Intel I5 @3.4ghz

8gb RAM

WinXP

nVidia 480GTX

Obviously, I had to update VP to be able to run, so not sure if it's VP, the table, my video RAM????

I tried changing several video options then disabling the B2S but the artifacting became worse - so I'm inclinded to say it's not my specs.

Update:  Everything working for these 3 new tables  :-)   Woohoo

Here's my problems:
#1 - Read Authors full Comments

#2 - Download DX9 version - I figured I was good just updating to 921 - Nope, needed the DX9 version

#3 - Download DX9

#4 - After crashing DX9 version - repeat step 1 - Read Authors full comments

#5 - Change video setting from Full Screen to Windowed Full Screen

Now it's working - No artifacting - BEAUTIFUL - THANKS!!!!!

I also get problems with the lights that are Always on. Cant get it working! You made a table that looks awsome, but noobs like me need a discription that I can understand! =)

I have some lightning issues with this. I get a trail through the lightning were the ball has been and also there is some general lightning issues with the bumbpers as you can see in the picture...

Anyone who knows how to fix this?

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a fix yet?

is there a chance that you make this wonderful table also as a desktop-table ?

is there a chance that you make this wonderful table also as a desktop-table ?

How come this table will only look for a directb2s file but not a b2s exe file? How can I change that?
