File Name: Scared_Stiff_921_DX9T8_FOM - JPSalas - Dozer316 - SUNKEN_FLUSH - NIGHT/DAY.zip

File Submitter: Dozer316

File Submitted: 08 Mar 2014

File Category: VP 9.x MOD Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): JPSalas - Dozer316.
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1996
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Here is a flasher object mod (FOM) for the Bally game "Scared Stiff".

First off many thanks to the developers who continue to enhance VP and allow some of these cool new effects.
Also to JPSalas for being kind enough to allow me to mod his original release of this table.

These two archives contain Day and Night versions of the same mod both in sunken and flush perspectives.  (Download your desired view and light state).

At around line 43 in the script you will find a variable named

Const RibFlashers = 0

Disabled by default this variable when set to 1 will render highlights on the ribs of the snake ramp on the playfield.  The highlights are based on reflections from the claw lamps that surround the playfield.   It may be a bit much for some folks so it's disabled by default.

These tables were authored with final version of VP921 but I recommend running it in DX9 version test 8 for an excellent performance boost.

The standard vpinmame controller is set in the script so you'll need to change that if you want to run directb2s.

Have a nice weekend and I hope you enjoy. - Dozer.

I have d/L earlier version and put it in vp folder but when I run it I get error and to check rom.

Thanks in advance for any help.

When you get your rom error, it should be telling you what rom is needed.

Basically the table is not displaying fullscreen, has about a 1/2" black border on either side along with some drawn in edge rails.  Makes the overall playfield look pinched on my cab.  Took pics to show the difference, can see them in the linked thread above.  Have the same issue with your MM table as well. Also the perimeter flashers seem to be in an always on state.  I'm using the latest 921 build.

In the table options set RU to 0 and save the table, that overwrites only the global RU setting for this table and it fixes the problem.

Well that tears it! I'm not getting anything done this weekend!  Lol.

Great job as always, no scale problems or anything.  Love it!

The rib lights are a really cool addition, love the add ons and really love the fact that you give us the option to use them or not!
