File Name: Fish Tales VP92

File Submitter: melon

File Submitted: 11 Jun 2010

File Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): melon
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1992
Permission to MOD?: No

Fish Tales VP9 - based on the table by Williams from 1992.

VPM recreation by melon.
The flippers in this one are based on the UR&NF settings, I think it's the better aiming I can get.
Thanks to all the betatesters. Thanks Leo for the backdrop image, Destruk, TAB & JPSalas for helping me with the lights in the ramp.
And of course special thanks to JPSalas, many of the sounds and textures are from him.

Looks great! Downloading now!

And since this table is Angle Independent, I won't bother uploading the FS mod, you guys can all dig into the editor this time biggrin.gif and here's the "DIY" instructions:

Open the Fish Tales by Melon and save it under a new name to make sure you don't change the original file.
For example: FS-Fish Tales VP9.vpt

-Click on the Backdrop button and I'd recommend the following changes on the Colors and Formatting:

Inclination: 38
Field of View: 0
XY Rotation: 270
X Scale: 1.81
Y Scale: 2.48
X Offset: -300
Y Offset: 395

Click on File and then Save to save the changes.
Click on Play!

Best Regards,
Todd.

About the FS version. Though it's angle independent, the lights on the ramp may not look OK from that view, and the reel animation will be lost, as it's animated from the side. So I'm working on these 2 little things to release an exclusive FS version.

Great work Melon, I can't wait or should I say my brother in-law can't wait for this in FS so he can play it on my cab. He's about as nuts about fishing as I am about this hobby.

Have been waiting for this one, and have to say you
rock the boat Melon! Super duper table!!
Lots of thanks and thanks again to you and all others
that may have helped you a bit.

However even if the physic settings seems to play it very well i wasnt
totaly happy with them. After lots of tweaking with lots of tables i have come to the conclusion
most modern tables seem to play at their better with an gravity constant around: 1,55-1,57.

So i started to experiment and landed after some 3 hours somewhere i was rather happy with.
Here are the settings if someone wants try.

Table slope min: 5,5 Table slope max:8,5 Global difficulty level: 0,3
Flipper physics compensated: Left and right speed: 0,6 Left and right strength: 0,15
Gravity constant: 1,57 Inclination:56 Field of view:32

Greetings.
