Big Game VP9 1.02

Version: 1.0.2
Category: VPinMAME 9.x Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas

Description:
Based on the table Big Game from 1980 made by Stern.
This is a conversion of the Big Game for VP8.

It has many changes special for VP9, most of them aren't visible since many of the changes are in the script.

Like all my tables fro VP9 it is angle independent (well, nearly, since the new plunger isn't 100% angle independent, but it can be easily fixed).

If the table plays too fast, then just change the Slope Min Difficulty or the Difficulty Level in the editor.

Thanks to Leo for the backdrop.

Update 1.01:
- Fixed bug with the target 1 (thanks Iceman)

Update 1.02
- Fixed bug with spinner light
- Fixed error in the script (rules)
- Added missing light in the playfield, shoot again light in the tiger's mouth (it was only in the backdrop)

Thank you JP for the update!!!! tup.gif

Only one thing... The ball can't pass behind the upper flipers to fall into the drain. I think the real machine the ball can pass. Or am I wrong?

I noticed that the ball physics is much better on tables like this, fast draw, black night, bow and arrow, brave team, etc, etc... The gameplay and difficulty level are good too. tup.gif
But, your Scared Stiff, one of my favorites, is too easy to play. The ball sometimes does the same movement, making it easy to play and make big scores (untrue). Maybe if the ball bounce a bit on the walls and flippers... i don't know...

JP, I only do these comments with the helping intention because I love your tables, I like to play them and I admire so much your hard work. smile.gif

Greetings!

Thanks billyrjse, I didn't know. And nobody told me that when I made it before. Well, then there will be a revision smile.gif But I like it without the ball falling behind the upper flippers smile.gif

@lettuce: No, the Iceman FS table was based on the old one. I made this version this week.

Great table JP!!! Finally, one of your tables for VP9 where I aint got to turn the HD off to get the table to play smooth without "jumpy" ball movement. Running it on 9.07.

Lucky...

This table makes so much fun JP.

The playfield looks so sharp but i hope you have a blackglass with a little bit more sharpness?

@bolt: If you take a look at my recent backglas in my tables, they use to be a little out of focus or are darker. It is a matter of taste. That Blackglas was made by StrangeLeo and imho it was perfect for the table, I only darkened it a little. I prefer darker backdrops or slightly out of focus because they make you focus your attention on the table.

Now about the ball going through the flippers. I have researched a little (wow that sounds nice smile.gif) (read "google" a little) and I found out that the original must have had the rubbers setup so the close the hole.

Pictures at the http://www.xmission....js/biggame.html and http://www.mopinball.com/bg/bg.html shows a rubber closing the whole. Also in the text of the mopinball site it says:
"There are four flippers, two on each side. Unlike the Bally arrangement, the ball cannot pass between the pair of flippers on each side. This makes it much easier to control the ball with the flippers."

But I have seen other pictures where the rubber is gone. So I leave the table like it is. But if you prefer a different challenge then just remove the rubber and the walls I added, and the ball will pass under the flippers to the outlanes.

Has anyone else noticed that the right bank of drop targets show 4-4-6 instead of 4-5-6? Simply change the middle drop target side image to the one with the 5 digit in it.

Thanks for a great update JP!!

Same thing here.
Also, looks like the ball like to drain a lot in the right outlane, I mean a lot like almost every times.
