I downloaded rom files from this site but they contained different files (cpu_u2.716 & cpu_u6.716) than what VPX is asking for (which are 25A-ROM-P3.U2 & 25A-ROM-P4.U6 ). I installed those rom files anyways and tried to run Stars, but then i get the error message "machine terminated before initialized. check the rom path or rom file".

I tried looking for 25A-ROM-P3.U2 & 25A-ROM-P4.U6 with google's search engine and brave's search engine but they've proven themselves to be kinda useless. How do you guys even find rom files anyways? 

Can anyone please help me find these files? I'm not sure how else am I supposed to get the table running.

Just an idea of mine, but may it could work for your problem aswell. There was a similar problem with Theatre of Magic https://www.vpforums...+theatre +magic. I guess the solutions of post #3 and #12 could do the trick for this table too. But you will need the correct line in the script for the second solution in post #12.

Which version of the table do you have and which version of VPinball & VPinMAME do you run ?

 

I just downloaded the rom "stars" from STERN on this site, and the version from STYX works for me with VP10.8.0 and VPinMAME 3.6

 

I also have a version from 32assassin working with VP10.7.4 and VPinMAME 3.6
