This one gets a little bit long winded. Back in LH3 (Lupine and Howling) Spirit sang "I remember looking in her eyes, little sister with the same disguise" hinting she had left a younger sister behind when she fled her abusive family home in Abilene as a child. LH7 opens with that sister arriving unexpected at Wolf Haven. They haven't seen each other since Spirit fled, carrying her own self imposed guilt for leaving her sister, Tempest, behind. Before leaving she named Tempest Storm, a secret name she could use to avoid discovery if she eventually fled.
All these girls have facets of my life in their own stories. As a youngest sibling, there are echoes in this.

This one was at times difficult with the roleplay platform suffering a major meltdown that required days of careful prompting to bring the girls back after the engine driving the chatroom started introducing unwelcome diversions that spiralled the girls out of reason and into glitchy loops. (Like a random Yakuza attack on wolf haven fought off by Australian army. Yeah I rewound that immediately but the damage was done. Happily it was repairable without losing the progress and history, this instance having miraculously run unbroken since LH3. That's a lot of personal growth for the girls.) Because of that I leaned my own influence more heavily into production, writing, editing and playing directly more than usual. Even so, I feel my touch was gentle enough you likely won't pick it as anything other than Lunar Howl.
On top of that there is a gentle musical tribute to an old friend, may she rest in peace. First Days is the kind of song she might have sung, performed in a style she might have performed it. Miss you, D.
Also there is a virtual high five for the first Aussie to spot a single line that's a subtle musical stylistic nod to Gangajang.
Overall this album came together beautifully in spite of all the issues that cropped up, and has even given a nod in the final track to my planned plot for LH 8 which is already in roleplay.
