I wasn't really sure how to phrase a search for this and didn't find anything after a few tries, sorry if this has been covered!

I'm getting started out making my own VPX tables, and I'm wondering where people get their meshes and textures for common things like lock bars, drop targets, inserts, etc. I've been digging through a lot of nice looking tables to see how they do things and I'm seeing a lot of repeated textures and stuff, so I'm wondering if Visual Pinball kind of has an open source mentality about adopting assets, or maybe if there are asset packs going around that everyone's getting the core stuff from? I found that little pack of bumpers and targets in the "Design Resources" tab but there's a lot more out there. I want to make my tables look as nice as possible and not reinvent the wheel with common stuff, but I also want to make sure I'm not yanking anyone's assets without permission or credit.

Thanks in advance!

There's no formal permissions system for table parts and they are normally freely shared, so copy/paste what you need :)  Can't say I've seen any complaints about anyone using parts only. There are object collections and resource tables around which were only made to share and give budding authors a leg-up, and that's the true spirit of VP.

What we do is to use resources from other tables. If there are many objects we want to use, or we want to ose the whole table to make a mod, we usually ask the author for permission, but if it is only one object or picture we simply write it in the table info or in the script.
