I used to JoyToKey to set up the correct buttons and technically speaking it works, but I noticed some issues which make playing with a controller not very viable.

The most important issue is with nudging, I wanted to use the left control stick for nudging but it's extremely sensitive and not very precise in it's direction causing you to nudge in the wrong direction or tilt the table. Are there settings I can mess with to resolve this or should I just switch to ABXY buttons?

Was hoping there was a way to use the right stick for precise plunging,  but doing so just yanks the plunger all the way down in a split second. Is there a way to get the plunger to go down, as you move the stick down kinda like you would do irl?

I bound the flippers to the trigger buttons, but for some reason the triggers also move the plunger around really aggressively. I'm not sure why this happens because the plunger isn't bound to any other key afaik.

And finally, is there a way to adjust the flipper sensitivity to enable for easier micro flipping? Pressing the corresponding button (on the controller or on a regular keyboard) immediately extends the entire flipper, even on short presses. Would be neat if this could be configured to be more precise.

Know I'm asking a lot, hopefully you guys have some anwers. And if not I'll just switch back to my keyboard. Thanks!

Hi ObiWan

At first, config Nudge for a joystick is a challenger in my opinion.

I did for experimental for PS3 joystick.

It works but it is not the correct way.

Below my settings:

The correct is to buy a kind of Pinscape Input card where a good analogic input can be configured for nudge

Unfortunately for me is very expensive to import this device. Maybe in your country be easy and cheaper.

Can one of you hold my hand through the process of setting up an xbox controller to play Visual Pinball?  I'm very new to all this.  I'd prefer the controller over the keyboard.

You'll want to download JoyToKey, the inherent vpx controller support is kinda whack.

What this program will let you do is emulate keyboard presses via your controller which is the way to go for this. There's helpful tutorials on youtube to help you set things up but overall it is pretty straightforward.
