File Name: Captain Fantastic (Bally 1975)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 12 Sep 2025

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Bally
Year: 1976
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the table by Bally from 1975.

This is a complete rebuild of the table, using new graphics, new layout, and it is as close as possible to the real machine. At least, now, the playfield has the right dimensions :)
The table uses my latest 2026 physics.

Enjoy

Thank you very much JP's for all your tables update !  :D

There is a single player version with  2 flippers and 2 Bumpers of Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy table on IPDB.

The table have a different layout and backglass.

Seems to be a very rare table.

Yes, it is a home edition. But I do not have good images. But I can take a look what can I find on the net :) The table seem to be very nice and easy to make :)

The backglass is ok, it is clearly an Ai upscaled, but with some work on the text, it can be used :) The playfield and the plastics are too small to be used, they should need to be redrawn, and it could take a long time to finish them.

How do I switch from 1 ball to 3 or 5 balls per game? f12 does nothing for me.

I guess you are not using the release version of VPX 10.8. The table works very well, with 5 balls as default. But if you are using an older beta, then maybe the F12 menu was not implemented yet.

UPDATE

7.0.0 Released 02.09.2026

Based on the table by Bally from 1975.

This is a complete rebuild of the table, using new graphics, new layout, and it is as close as possible to the real machine. At least, now, the playfield has the right dimensions :)
The table uses my latest 2026 physics.

I'm updating all my tables with my latest physics and fixes, and it was this table's turn. I saw the table and I saw that the playfield dimensions were wrong 952x1927 instead of 952x1976. So I rebuilt the table using a new playfield.

Enjoy
JP
