Hello,

I'm new to VR and I need some help with Visual Pinball VR.

I'm using a Quest 3.
MetaQuestLink and SteamVR are running on PC with SteamVR (OpenVR) as the runtime.

I installed VPX using the Baller Installer.

VPX 2D and VPX-VR (with running MetaQuestLink, SteamVR and linked Quest3) is working.

I'm using the normal PinUp Popper Frontent - not VR (I testet the VR-Version and had some problems, also the program is depreciated).

The Problem: Every time I close a VR-Table I'm landing in SteamVR then I have to switch to Desktop to start a new VR-Table and when it's started I have to push the Meta-button again on the controller.

My question:
Can we run VPX via Virtual Desktop (WITHOUT SteamVR)?
Start the Virtual Streamer app on PC, Virtual Desktop on your linked headset, then start the VR table on Virtual Desktop via PinUp Popper. When closing the VR-Table, you're back in PinUp Popper and can select another table.

Virtual Desktop supports OpenXR (VDXR). Isn't OpenXR even better or faster than OpenVR?

Hi Freventer, yes you can run without Steam VR using Virtual Desktop (the headset's standalone version with it's streamer's Runtime set to VDXR. You would also need the Open Composite dll, let me know if you need that. Note, the newer BGFX versions of VP use OpenXR and have a compatible dll so Steam will no longer be required.

STeamVR kept popping up in my view, and I noticed it stopped that if I make sure that SteamVR is the default app for openxr and enable the meta plugins.  That's in the SteamVR settings. This issue happened to me because Meta app was the default openxr.
