Does the tables look better and with more resolution in Quest 3, compared to Quest 2?

I only have a quest 2, but Quest 3 is a higher resolution LCD with increased FOV so I'm guessing resolution will receive a bump up in VPX. Also the Quest 3 has pancake lenses and more IPD options to match your pupil distance, both these features will result in better focus across the entire lens instead of just a sweet spot in the middle of the lens (Quest 2 has only 3 IPD settings and fresnel lenses, if your IPD doesnt match one of the 3 settings it wont be as good, peripheral focus on Q2 is much worse than Q3).
 

However, Quest 3s has the same lenses and LCD panel resolution as quest 2, it also has only 3 IPD settings. There would not be a lot of advantage with a Q3s over Q2 purely for PC gaming, unless you intend to use passthrough for VPX with Visual Desktop, Q2 is black and white passthrough camera, whereas Q3 is Colour and higher res cameras. Q3s 
 

Quest 3 supports AV1 compression if your GPU is capable, Q2 doesnt support it. Not sure about Q3s, but I suspect it will also support AV1 although can't find that info anywhere.

Seems passtrough inside PCVR in Quest 3 is not possible... either you see the virtual desktop, or the table with a black background. What a bummer

It is not a Quest 3 limitation. The PCVR game need to support mixed reality mode

Passthrough is possible if you use virtual desktop, you also need a table that features a VR room sphere that is the colour that you want to key out. The Spreadsheet has been updated with "Mixed Reality" as a search, you will find all of Ext2k's tables with this feature that way, plus a few others.....and yep, even more on our Discord.
