David Gilmore sold Retroplay Vpinball machines in Australia until he went into liquidation a few years back. I bought one of those machines just as he went bust. I did receive it and it has never worked properly, broken wifi links little game freezes etc. Anyway I done something I should not have, that is I went near something that I knew nothing about. I tried to reconfigure the KL25Z. Now its settings are completely stuffed making my machine in operatable. I am reaching out to anyone out there who is currently using a RETROPLAY VPinball machine and hoping they can look at their config settings for their Pinscape KL25Z controller and post them here. I am hoping he wired up all or most of his machines the same. I have messed mine up completely and stupid me did not make note of the original setup. Any kind of help would be very grateful.

Perhaps nobody has responded, because this particular company illegally included this communities content with the cabinets he sold?

Unfortunately I had no idea he as shonky. I am the innocent victim in this one. So please don't take that out on me.  He didn't even give me what I ordered,  he gave me the next model down. I received it just before christmas about 3 weeks before he went bust.  By the sounds of it I was lucky to even receive this. I have figured out the KL25Z. But I cannot figure out the port assignments for the DOF, I don't know what thing does what, or what they are called, shakers rumblers, knockers ???

The only way I suppose is to pull everything apart so I can see what wires are going where and then work out what it is. I have no idea. I just wanted to buy a vpinball machine and play it and not worry about anything else.

So if anyone could send me a screen shot of the DOF settings at least that gives me a starting point and I would be extremely grateful.

Try posting in the Facebook or Reddit virtual pinball groups. Maybe someone there might be able to help

If you load DOFLinx and just run what is in the Starter64 folder but set DEBUG=1 you will be able to use all of the test menus, ie device / port, this will enable you to map what turns on per port without having to pull things apart.  If you want to do this download and check out the guide, we can then guide you through getting your machine mapped.

Or just run the Pinscape setup tool and use the output test screen to map what comes on with each port - probably easier.

you can check the in- and outputs pretty "easy":
1. download and extract the pinscape configtool from mjrnet.org

2. Start it and go into setup or outputs

3. test each output and write down the port number and what it does

4. do the same for the input (Buttons) config

5. if only your inputs are screwed you could be lucky if you reassign to the standard keystrokes, like "1" for start game, or shift buttons for flippers etc.

those are shown if you hover the mouse over the displayed keyboard

good luck ;)

Gday mate, I just stumbled across this while seeing what had happened to Retroplay, how horrible.

Turns out I also have one o his machines! Did you still need help getting yours fixed? Shoot me an email to [email protected] as I might forget to come on here.

Chris

Thanks for the responses.

I finally found a Pinscape backup file that was created just before he sent me the machine.

So i started from scratch and formatted the drive just before christmas 2024.

I now have everything running perfectly, I decide to install Pinball X instead of Pinup Popper.

Have learnt heaps of stuff for setting up from scratch.

If someone needs some help in the future I now may be able to assist

I have a Retroplay vpin from early 2020 and lo and behold, all of the software including windows was dodgy and now I am struggling to get it working again.  Installed a version of Ghost Spectre as the OS, and got most of a fresh vpin install done through Baller Installer.  Can not for the life of me get the DOF to work though.
