It works, but the lag is so bad it's pretty much unplayable. Is there something I'm missing, or should I wait until VPX gets an actual Mac port?

Feeling like I'm grasping at straws at this point. VMware doesn't work, UTM doesn't work, even Wineskin doesn't work. Whisky is the closest I've gotten.
I never would have imagined that running Windows programs on a Mac would actually become more limited over time...

Why not use the Mac build?

The only Mac build I found didn't have a UI, so I wouldn't be able to make my own tables.

Ah, i am not sure if it has a UI yet

I think mostly it just plays them in IOS/OSX

Cant you just boot windows?

Or use virtualbox and run a windows VM to create?

VirtualBox doesn't run on my Mac because of architecture compatibility issues.
I suppose I could try Boot Camp, but switching to another OS just for one or two programs seems awfully inconvenient. I'm not sure it would run anyway, because of the archiecture issue.
I'm considering trying Parallels next...

Good news- Parallels works beautifully! I've only tried 2 tables so far, but they both played better and smoother than my previous computer ever managed. Hopefully no further issues arise.

I bought my first PC ever in 2021 to use with a vpin.  I didn't like it but I did it!

I'm getting my first Apple Silicon machine soon.  Are you on Apple Silicon?  Are all pieces working (backglass, DMD, DOF)?

Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm using a Mac with Silicon. I'm no computer expert (I don't actually know exactly what Silicon means in this context), but from what I've read all new Macs have/use it.
Can't comment on the backglass etc. because I only have one monitor, so I'm stuck using Desktop mode.
