After starting the table with VPX8 use key F12 to change the options and LUT (not in script)
 
VPX8 need VPX 10. 8 final version

There aren't enough rolling ball sounds in the sound manager. Just export one, copy/paste it and rename to fx_ballrolling2 to 5, then import them.

Looks great but the slingshots don't seem to kick? You can see the ball hits and the rubber snaps out but doesn't hit the ball. It just rolls down on both slings

The top ones are just leaf switches, not slingshots.

now xmas holiday can come to finish and built in my diy chime unit into the cab

I'm using 10.7.4 x64 Clyde and the slings don't kick the ball for me. Try this; Start a game and get the ball on the playfield and hit your D key (ball control) Check ball control. Now drag the ball above a slingshot. Now uncheck ball control and let the ball drop straight down onto the face of the slingshot. In my case the kicker and rubber pop out but the ball simply continues rolling down the sling without being affected by the kicker.

You might be onto something wiesshund. Although it's nothing I did. I'm just running it straight from the zip with no changes. Here's a pic of the right slingshot physics. Shouldn't collidable be checked?

Mind you, i am assuming the right side is a slingshot, and not just a rebound target?

 

If it is, i do not see a slingshot

 

see left side?

see dark black line?

that is the slingshot face of the wall

 

i do not see one on the right side?

there are machines where only one slingshot is a slingshot and the other is just a rebound target

but usually those winde up being dissimilar sizes/shapes

Schematics shows kicker coils at E-17 so they are absolutely slingshots in the traditional sense.

The right and left slingshot work well on my DT and my cabinet on VPX 10.7.4 422 x64 and VPX 10.8.0 1807 x64

 

They are only slingshots to the bottom

Counter intuitively I lowered slingshot force to 3.5 and they work a lot better- strange! They were set to 9.

I didnt make the table, i am only telling you what i see in the editor in your screenshot

 

rubberbands animating, in and of themselves does not mean anything

 

should be a wall object on both sides

typically named right_slingshot / left_slingshot

 

each should have a dark black line representing the slingshot face

 

slingshot force of both should be something other than 0

Can something be done about the permanently spinning / colliding balls in the captive ball area?

 

It's irritating and unrealistic.

 

I've experimented a lot to avoid this (a ramp with high friction under the balls etc), but i hadn't any success.

 

JPSalas has this great "cvpmCaptiveBall" routines in his scripts, but can these be implemented for a few balls in a row?

I understand and yes there are sling walls there. Patience please. I'm primarily used to the real pins so it takes a minute to grab concepts. I've only been here on vpf since 2009 and still learning

Yep, the balls on this table are moving and clicking together as soon as the table starts up.
