The Phantom of the Opera (LORD HIRYU) FS

Version: 1.0.0
Category: VP 9.x Cabinet Tables (FULL SCREEN)

Author(s): LORD HIRYU

Description:
The Phantom of the Opera (LORD HIRYU) FS
Here's my latest recreation...." The Phantom of The Opera".

Firts...the "very thanks" part:

Thanks to JPSalas and his fab light code.
Thanks to Groni for the sounds of flippers and bumbers that they used in his outstanding LOTR.
Thanks to Shockman, Cristof and Pafick77 for their previous version of POTO....(There's no manual on the entire web......sad.gif ), so their table guides me to make mine.

Now, the boring part.

I try to make the transparent ramps as close as possible to the original one, but I changed the typical rail ramps on Data East for a Williams/bally style.
Also, I try to use in this version, transparent ramps with friction to decrease the ball speed, instead to use script code.
I think this way is better to preserve the gravity constant of the table.

Now....the good part.....Enjoy it !!!!

P.D.: The 3:4 view is comming!!
Ops....I forget to say.....use VP 9.05.

LORD HIRYU,

I believe you forgot to hook up the TILT. I'm working on a UVP backglass for it and as I was testing the GI and realized I couldn't tilt the table.

Wow, this really made my day. One of my true fave tables, and the level of detail, as always with your tables, is just amazing. Though I'll have to wait for the 4:3 version to play, just knowing it is coming is enough to cheer me.

hi lord hiryu what a fantastic looking table, played this constantly in my local pub back in the early ninties,
really looking foreward to the 4:3 version.

i have 1 question :- once your last ball has been lost, how come the game takes ages giving you an extra game chance ? is it a rom issue or emulation issue.

as soon as the machine gets that part over with everything speeds back up to normal again.

thanks again for this stunning table

Hi all,
awesome machine and great table from the photos.....excuse me as I am a Visual Pinball noob, but keep getting an error in the scrip at line 344, col 25 "RampOrgano.Collidable = 1". If I remove this line altogether, the table works, but the graphics are all messed up.

Any advice?

Cheers!
Adam.

Very rare indeed.
Nevermind, the line 344 has no ", here's the complete part of the script.
Check it and compare with yours.

CODE

'Mech Callbacks

Sub UpdateOrgano(aNewPos, aSpeed, aLastPos)
If aNewPos = 24 Then aNewPos = 23 : If aLastPos = 24 Then aLastPos = 23
OldOrganPos = OrganPos
OrganPos = Controller.GetMech(1)
If OrganPos = -1 then OrganPos = 0
If OrganPos = 0 then
OrganoReel.SetValue 1
RampOrgano.Collidable = 1
OrganSensor1.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor2.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor3.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor4.Enabled = 0
Else

OrganSensor3.Enabled = 1
OrganSensor4.Enabled = 1
End If

OrganoPosiciones(aNewPos).IsDropped = 0
End Sub

Hi Leezer, marv75 and humid,

here you can find a very good 4:3 version of Phantom of the Opera from Pafick77.

http://www.pinballni..._Opera_VP8.html

It's for VP8 only not for VP9, but the table makes a lot of fun.

Thanks Bolt, I grabbed it the day it arrived. I modded it a bit further, and have played it alot. A very good version, but I'm as greedy as most VP'ers. Gomez says that word so well!

Hi Lord Hiryu,
thanks for the prompt response. Compared the code and can't see anything different.

My code is:

CODE
Sub UpdateOrgano(aNewPos, aSpeed, aLastPos)
If aNewPos = 24 Then aNewPos = 23 : If aLastPos = 24 Then aLastPos = 23
OldOrganPos = OrganPos
OrganPos = Controller.GetMech(1)

If OrganPos = 0 then
OrganoReel.SetValue 1
RampOrgano.Collidable = 1
OrganSensor1.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor2.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor3.Enabled = 0
OrganSensor4.Enabled = 0
Else
OrganoReel.SetValue 0
RampOrgano.Collidable = 0
OrganSensor1.Enabled = 1
OrganSensor2.Enabled = 1
OrganSensor3.Enabled = 1
OrganSensor4.Enabled = 1
End If
OrganoPosiciones(aLastPos).IsDropped = 1
OrganoPosiciones(aNewPos).IsDropped = 0
End Sub

My version of Visual Pinball is 0.8.9506.

Cheers!

Hi Lord...

About POTO,

sound is very low... Voices are ok... How pump up the table sound?

When the ball drops to the plunger... Makes plunger noise instead ball droping noise...
When the game finishes and comes organs notes replay numbers... is taking forever to finish...

Also having some graphics problems... Large white pins all around the table...
Look the pic:

That is because the PAL timing chips aren't emulated in VPM.
I think we have chip reads, but we have no idea how to run the code on them.

Is a Data East, and at least, my GNR pinball has a knob to increase the volume, as my Star Wars, so I I think that poto has a Knob, so the sound is not reachable trough the DMD menu, as williams/bally and Stern.

I think is an issue of th emulation of the rom, but really I don't know.

There's no error here. These post are in the real pinball, but they're grey instead of white. I put it on white, 'cause the greu colour seems to me a bit darker. wink.gif

Cheers.
