File Name: Pokerino (Williams 1978)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 07 Dec 2022

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Halen
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1978
Permission to MOD?: Unspecified

Based on the table by Williams from 1978

Thanks to Halen for the playfield and plastics graphics.
Thanks to Eala Dubh Sidhe's code for the captive balls, which I took from the old vp table.

The real table used staged flippers (dual leaf switches) which allows the inner flippers to operate first, or all four flippers to operate, depending on how far the flipper buttons are pressed. I have added the possibility to use those in the script. So if you own a cabinet with those switches the table will use them as default.

If you have normal flipper switches, or you use a keyboard, then you may change that at the top of the script. You may disable the staged flippers and both flippers will operate from one single button by setting the constant StagedFlipperMod = 0, or you may use the extra buttons, which they are the A and ' keys. You may also change them for the Magnasave buttons if you prefer.

Bad rom? Sound disabled? (press F1 and see if the sound is enabled)

Well, with vpinmame there are only 3 things you need to check: is the sound enabled (F1 during the game), you have the right rom (test the rom from the setup.exe) or the nvram is corrupt (just delete the nvram file).

This is a really fun table to play with the staged flippers.
I'm only getting crazy that it also switch the LUT during game play. So I Set the lut , saved it and commented out the key for leftmagna key.
I also changed the POC a bit, to keep the correct aspect ratio

Thanks for this table JP

Great job as always Maestro, only DOF to add.

To be more precise - looks that only flippers dof is not working.

Moreover only bottom flippers are working, the higher ones do not move.

Thanks,

Wudek

UPDATE

1.0.1 Updated 08.12.2022
- Replaced the broken credits bulb on the apron :)
- Fixed the DOF for the staged flippers (I hope)

Thanks kiwi and Wudek for the bug reports :)
I'm not sure if the DOF fix works, but it should do that, unless I have to add some extra code, which I haven't a clue what it can be :)

I d/l and installed this latest version and only two of the four flippers function?

Only the bottom left/right flipper work - the other left/right just stay in the down position.

Honestly, someone that HAS DOF hardware, needs to step up and take the time to DOF the table (Per the config)
and then give you the script update. (and submit updated config as well if it requires it)

It's a script table, not ROM
So table and DOFconfigtool have to be 100% in agreement.

And it isnt like you even have the hardware to test it or anything

If they want DOF they need to put out the effort

And for all i know, the DOF Config on the dofconfigtool may not even have the staged flips factored in
(in which care you'd have to duplicate the normal flips)

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

I guess you didn't read what I wrote. So scroll up and read what I wrote :) Then you may go to the script and change that variable if you want both flippers working at the same time using a single key :)
