I recently signed up to VPUniverse (after having some difficulty getting an activation email). Having finally succeeded I have downloaded quite a few things (within the limits of the site) and attempted to login over the last 12 hours and am receiving this banned message. I have no way of contacting a person called "Dazz" and was wondering if someone would be able to assist? I know this is the wrong site to be asking for help but I am unable to perform any actions on the other site. Thanks for your help

Mark

Dont think Paul can do much to help you there.

Do you use a VPN? because that i think can get you banned at VPU

It is in their notices etc

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

No VPN (my NordVPN is disabled). Just a direct Internet connection using Aussie Broadband.

My username is "MacPac". Thanks very much - if possible, would you be able to find out why it got locked? I want to make sure it doesn't happen again. As an FYI, I have 3 different computers in the house so depending on what I do, I may use another computer (same account) - although I can't imagine that would cause an issue.

This user has used multiple accounts including a bugmenot (which is shared account from bugmenot site) account. This is strictly against the posted site rules.

Originally I tried to register using BMAC with my outlook account but never received an email to activate, so then I tried bugmenot to try and download one file (whilst I was waiting to sort out the account issue) and ultimately ended up registering MacPac which is my gmail account.

If he looks at his records, he should see BMAC as the first account which I tried to register but did not get successfully activated. There wasn't any help info to contact someone if the email wasn't received, hence the multiple attempts at getting access. He should have all the logs for that.

VPUniverse has a counter attached to your login.   I think you can d/l 25 files every 24 hours.  If you have exceeded this limit, this is possibly why you have been banned.

I also had trouble signing up to VPU. I never received an activation email, and after 2 days of nothing I cancelled my account request.

They need to improve their processes.

Users do not get banned for exceeding the download limit. The timer resets every day.

Maybe if it was all free, they wouldn't have to deal with multiple accounts?

They could just enjoy some pinball, instead!

Hmm. Maybe Noah, you need to get your facts straight ? VPU is free. Last I checked, there was download limitation here too. You come out as a dick when you are bashing on VPU for reasons that are in fact wrong ! It doesn't put you or VPF in a good light to be perfectly honest.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Everything here is 100% free. No paywalls, no timers, no secret areas.

Facts straight you say?

That is a change then - from before.

https://www.vpforums...p=subscriptions

I don't see VPU doing anything else than what you used to ... limiting downloads - which I admit, seems to have changed some years back ? I would not know being one that payed that Platinum way back when. On VPU I voluntarily payed Dazz on a yearly basis ... for maybe 2 or 3 years. Don't remember. Told him I would be fine with continuing with that on a yearly basis when VPinball closed. He never required any payment, and still don't. Actually refused my suggestion.

I admit. I don't know the exact ruling for VPU these days. Only that you can get to tables without having to pay for them. It used to be 5 or 10 here pr. day, here (don't remember the exact limit), so, really, don't point fingers. I actually see a good in limiting downloads to be honest. You kind of have to come back if you're bit of the hobby and was surprised to hear that you have now taken away that restriction. I bet you would still have that up if only you found a way to keep those Australian turd(s) out of here.

The secret area you mention. I can tell you straight. First post I ever saw there was maybe a month after VPinball closed and I assure you, there isn't really much of value there either. VIP do get access there. You did have such a thing here too - and maybe still have ? People pay Dazz to help him run the bills, that is basically it. I of course have no clue if he is making some money on it now in the latest years, but, if he do - I would be happy to hear it. I know for a fact he shelled out from his own pocket year after year so - yeah, it would be great if he could keep his balance in the black instead of red. He deserves it, just like you do I guess.

I find it kind of funny you keeping pointing fingers towards Dazz and in the same sentence suggest that I should contact Bigus1 and square things up. Maybe listen to your own advice for once ?

I do not see one that i can tell

mind you i have not tried to queue up 20+ downloads simultaneously or anything but i have had several running simultaneously

and have never ran into a daily limit.

Only thing i know of is you can not direct link to downloads as they use an expiring token
so you have to originate from the download description page and click the button, to generate a token
but i've no need to try running 7000 downloads at once, which is all that prevents

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

No limits for years and years here.

You're right, you have to pay the bills ... so I do, and have done so for years. We've been running 'red', as you say, for as long as I can remember. It's not red, in my opinion, though. It's giving to a great community whenever I pay the bill out of pocket. Don't care. I made a commitment to keep this site running ad infinitum, and I intend to do so.

I didn't feel right about it in the first place, so I removed them. Years ago, some VIPs suggested I set it up with limits, because people were donating $0.01 for a lifetime of unlimited downloads and I wasn't working. When I started working, things changed, of course.

As has been discussed on Facebook groups and here, Dazz has a section that's VIP or pay only. You probably can't tell, since you're a VIP. Doesn't mean much, though, when you can just BUY that status over there. Timers, download limits, etc. are solely for him to cash in. Have you not been paying attention? He planned on cashing in from the very start, and I've been warning everyone for years. I'm just not that loud about things, I guess. I don't like conflict, but I sure as hell will call out douchebaggery when I see it. It's in my blunt nature. :)

Bigus never ran an 8 year smear campaign against you, opened a site with unauthorized content just to spite you, and acted maliciously toward you every chance he had, unless I'm mistaken? Not even close to similar in nature.
