It says "machine terminated before initialization check rom path or rom file"

I'm using the midearth.zip file from this site in the rom folder.

I copied the .vbs file into the script folder too.

Fix: The rom on this site doesn't work, get it from the vpuniverse.

Table is very unique and fun, thank you for sharing this table.

I had to get the rom from VPU before I could get it to work.

Hello Balater,

thank you for this rare table. But I cannot get it into play. The VPU rom is in the rom folder and the atari1b.vbs is in the table folder als well as in the script folder. The table loads, the playfield illumination is in attract mode. No crackling sound from the emulation start. All displays show "8" in all digits and non of table control shows any effect. What could I try additionally? (all other Atari pins I have -> run)

The table creates a nvram file!

Sincerely, Christian.

Why do you also put the Atari1b.vbs in the table folder, and not in the script folder only ?

You've been too speed

Do you have any other vbs scripts in your table folder, if so get them out of there. Will the table start? My score digits also show 8's until i start the table.

I noticed this same thing with Airborne Avenger, and I think it might have also been that way on Superman, so I think it's a specific "quirk" to Atari tables, rather than a bug, especially since I also don't think they retain any high score information. A lot of early solid state proceeded with an assumption that Home Use was not to be a thing (how many don't have free play as an option?), possibly encouraged by operators that feared that having pinball machines in a home precluded someone going to a location to play pinball at that point (which was a load of crap then, and even more so now). And I'm sure a lot of operators preferred not having to go and reset the credit count on machines before turning things off at the end of the day.
