Great table. I remember playing this back in the day at a local arcade and you and everyone made it just the way I remember so thanks for that. I do have a problem with the rom in that all the lights flash during the game. Is there a trick I am missing?

Try deleting the nvram and cfg file.
Start fresh again.
Sound like you are in test mode for the lamps

Anybody figure out the credit bug? When I score special or replay no credits appear.

Really nice one.
I tried your fulll screen pov as well (but like more the wide table one), but 1 object is on top where you cannot see the top of the playfield

The Decal is not for the full screen POV.
Is in there to cover the black space if you are using the default POV.
Set it to 0 in the script if you are going to use a different POV

Isn't Superman a wide body ? Why would you drag and distort the hell out of the playfield is my question ;)

Don't !

See that happening way to often in this hobby. People are desperately trying to fit the whole screen, not taking into consideration that round object should actually look round. Makes me wonder quite often how long it has been since some of you played a real machine last. Going from my Widebody build to a real one, I can assure you. Real machines do feel tiny, and narrow at first.

Edited by Thalamus, 30 August 2021 - 04:58 AM.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Absolutely! Keeping the ball and table elements round should always be the priority when setting up the PoV. You should never squash or stretch...

...you should crop 😈

POV settings are a personal preference. Nothing wrong with wanting to fill the screen. Nothing wrong with wanting to keep things round.

I tend to fall into the fill the screen camp :)

I am in the camp of keep the table at 1 to 1 proportions (X and Y scale of 1)

Use negative Z offset (Camera to table distance) and when one of the table dimensions hits the edges of the screen, that is as big as the table gets.
Pinball machines are not 16:9 in ratio of width to height, and some are less of that than others.

If there is a gap at the top of the table and it bugs me (which it usually does not) i will just go fill it with an animated flasher
have it run through some vintage beer ads or something.

If there is space on the sides, which us usually what you get, if those are annoying, you can pad the table sides out, or widen the top rails if the table has them

Or put in a larger table box, to give the illusion that the playfield is sitting down inside.

I hate fighting to keep the ball round, and find skewed table objects and graphics more annoying that some blank screen area.

But everyone is different

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

This table is giving me issues.  It won't start at all. All my other tables including the older Superman work fine. I did a fresh install of 10.6 but every time I get to the "Starting Table Scripts" box it tries for a few seconds and then just closes out Visual Pinball completely without warning. Any ideas?

Edit: I realized that it was the music causing the issue. 1.2 didn't have music files but when I downloaded 1.1, it was included.

Great table! My playfield is set to portrait in Windows. The FSbar graphic for this table runs up the left side of my playfield. I see that I can disable it in the table script. But I'd much prefer to rotate it so it fills the top of the playfield as intended.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how to rotate it in the VPX editor. I can unlock it and drag it around, but I can't resize it or rotate it. Am I missing something?
