Thanks Bigus. I like this table. I was not getting any music, voice, etc. when I first played it. I then downloaded the rom from IPDB and all is good

yes it will. Go to Ipdb.  The rom is right there when you search the table

If anyone is having problems with no sound get the dw_I2 rom from VPU. I tried the one from Ipdb & It still would not work. BTW I am running PinMAME V3.4

Hi Bigus1.

Thank you for this nice table mod.
I have the same no sound issue as gamemodder.
I have installed last VPinMAME 3.4 and the IPDB dw_l2 rom set, but it didn't work.
I downloaded dw_l1 rom set from IPDB and it works now.

Don't know how many times I've got to tell you guys - get roms from VPU and get a complete series.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

I tried the 12 rom but it will not get out of testing so I used the 11 rom. Is there a way I can fix the other?

make sure your 12 rom is from VPU and delete your nvram file and your cfg file. If it will not get out of testing hit F3 to restart table.

just to clarify my friend. you say get a complete series? this table is asking for  dw_l2 and that's what I've installed. do i need to install dw_l1 as well ? its working fine with just dw_l2

Open Pinmame - look at all the names that belongs to Dr Who (all the roms). Go to VPU - use search. Put in every title in the series. Now you have a complete set and every rom will work. Taking outdated files from here, ipdb won't work. Dr Who had updates not that long time ago and VPU w/Carney made sure that that site was all in the green as usual. You need to do it this way in order to be 100% sure that you have the files needed because of so called split sets. Either that or start to actually maintain your rom collection in a proper way.

Hi Thalamus.
I always had been confident with the IPDB ROMs since I never had this kind of issue before, but you are right: I downloaded the same dw_l2.zip file from VPU and it works instead.

Thank you very much for the tip.

Massimo

Often ipdb will work, it is not that. Most of the roms here and ipdb will work because pinmame hasn't changed for that particular game. But, it actually are work being done to roms all the time. Most of the time though, it is new roms being added. Or code improvements so that they sound better. But, it happens, that a new dump emerges and it has even happened that roms has been renamed. Neither vpf or ipdb maintain their pinmame collection. Carney does over at vpu and that is why you should first run setup and see if the rom gives you all ok. If it doesn't VPU should be your next visit. And, yes, download the whole series to be 100% sure that you have all the files is what I recommend. At least until you see OK for all files for the game in question.

How can i get rid of the "keep hands away" warning? I can't find a setting for it in the rom options.

Hey Bigus1, A bunch of us have been playing your version of Dr Who in a tournament on Aussie Arcades Forum.

Just about all of us have had problems with this table crashing at various times.  I have noticed it crashes a lot when the countdown timer is on when you can re-lock balls after a multiball.

Otherwise great table mate, keep up the good work.

If your interested in the chat about your table in our comp, heres the link.  Maybe some of the comments will help you if you do decide to revisit this table in the future
