Is there a way to get a light to go UNDER a snippet instead of over top of it?

When it is on top of it, the lap basically blots out the snippet

or burns right through it, how ever you want to look at it

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Hello,

To answer your question I think the answer is NO, at least not when using B2S Designer lights.

I made some test about that in 2017 in this topic (second post) : https://vpuniverse.c...-order-z-order/

As a result, the layer order in B2S Designer does not work very well and the B2S Designer lamps don't look like they were made to light up snippits.

In my examples (in the topic) you can see that the lamps always tend to come first.

Originally I wanted to use snippits to hide certain areas of the light from the lamps.

Since then, I don't use the B2S Designer lamps anymore but only snippits that I prepare in Photoshop.

There are many advantages to this in my opinion:
- A much better rendering of the lighting
- Sometimes you have to place a lamp in a corner or at the edge of the backglass (this is the case of several lamps of the B2S of "TOTAN" for example) but the lamps of B2S designer cannot go beyond the area of the backglass, it is possible to place them during the design but these lamps will be moved during the generation of the db2s.

One important thing about the order of the layers in B2S Designer: always start importing what goes in the background, then what goes in the third, then the second, then the first.

If you do this, in B2S Designer > Window > Resources >(line) Illuminations snippits: you will see first what is at the very bottom and then down the elements that overlay the previous ones.
In short: the order of the layers in this B2S Designer window is reversed compared to Photoshop.

I hope this helps.

You were asking this question to get what result ? And for which B2S ?

If you post screenshots I can probably help you more.

Cheers

I wound up removing the lamps entirely, for now

to have the lamps under the snippet, rather that go over the top and obliterate the snippet
