File Name: Vector Pinball (Field One)

File Submitter: Wylte

File Submitted: 02 Jun 2021

File Category: VPX Originals

Author(s): Wylte
Sophira
Dozing Cat Software
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

VPX conversion of Vector Pinball by Sophira, a VP9 recreation of the first table "field" in the "Vector Pinball" mobile game by Dozing Cat Software.  Updated and uploaded with permission from both.
I tried to keep it as true to the android version as possible, from bigger things like physics and timing down to little weird quirks like the flippers killing the ball momentum.  Compared to the mobile version, it’s just a little bit less floaty and has very minor adjustments to where the ball goes when not in player control.  The ball is still wild, just a little less likely to drain without giving the player a chance.

Options for various things are in the script, with explanations.

dB2S files with 16:9 and 4:3 setups included in the .zip.
Unfortunately necessary disclaimer:
Distribution of this table to sites other than where I myself have uploaded it is explicitly NOT allowed.
Modding IS allowed and permission given in advance by me, but you must get permission from Dozing Cat Software before uploading (it was their table, after all).

Thanks to Brian Nenninger of Dozing Cat Software for the original and giving permission to make this;  Sophira for permission to use her VP9 table, its code, and the resources she gathered;  Outhere and Wildman for their info and tutorials on the B2S Designer and code hooks;  JPSalas for his materials data;  HauntFreaks for the ShinyEnvironment lighting environment;  and Toxie and Fuzzel for VPX.

This file is out of date and no longer supported!

Due to VPF's support of Bigus1 stealing content and uploading it here under his own name, I no longer provide support here.  Find me at https://VPUniverse.com collaborating with Bord, 32assassin, wrd1972, ClarkKent, and other quality creators in the VPin Workshop (VPW).

Yeah, good, piss off and don't come back.  Your ridiculous ball shadows are rubbish btw. You can't cast a shadow onto a light, you idiot.

Wow, well you certainly seem like someone that respects other creator's work.

What goes around comes around.

That's no good, because I do respect your legitimate contributions as a creator. Like the ball mirror in Hook, the work done to improve things like the funnel in Special Force and stuck balls everywhere, your VP9 conversion, and the many times you've responded to bug reports and fixed your tables. It's just the ego, lies and theft that I have a problem with.

And I'm sorry there's one limitation of the shadows that bugs you. It is really easy to avoid, though, and they are badass otherwise :)

We can make whatever fantastical effects we like on these things, but if we choose to ignore the laws of physics, we can't also claim it to be realistic - or partly so.

Buddy, all you do is barely modify lights and then slap the same changelog on every single MOD. You act like its a witch hunt, but its obvious you barely do anything compared to other modded tables.

Soooo ... instead of sharing it at the FREE site that made it all possible, you upload it to the pay site, with the paywalls, no less, out of principle.

Nice! :dblthumb:

We do have rules of decorum here, and you are not exempt from our guidelines, dude.

Please stop fighting you all. I have been there and done that myself when making videogames. In the end people competing against each other kills the scene. See it as a market place. If there is not enough to see you stop going there. Thanks to all of you I reached 1000 tables running in my frontend this week. All unique and except for some reskins different tables. I love all tables and respect them, easy games are fun with friends, hard games are still plenty of fun alone. Some get played only once or twice but that should be fine. They got played and got me at least for the try out entertained. You guys need each other if you like it or not because if there ain't something to release often it all ends within 1 year. Even with large international fanbases and forums above 10.000 members

I've paid the same amount to VPF, VPU, and PN, and there's no paywall on any of them. Besides, it's still uploaded here and I'm open to changing my mind in the future.

Fair enough. The difference is unpaid members here can download everything to their heart's content. No paywalls.

I found it ironic.

I have to be honest, there's a ton of things I'm unhappy about, e.g., real theft of IP I own in part, the lies ... all the lies, the unnecessary drama, the insults, etc, and I'm still here. VPF is still here. I made a commitment to this community to keep this site running ad infinitum.

Do you see me 'taking my football and going home'? I have many more reasons to do so, I assure you, but it's a commitment I take very seriously. A little reciprocity goes a long way.

If you don't like something about VPF, the passive aggressive way isn't the way to go. You can address anything directly with me, and I will listen, I will be fair, and you will see much better results.

VPU does have tables and other content behind a pay wall (VIP section).

Yep.

What is that? $120/year? That's what it was the last time their subscriptions were publicly viewable. Hell, even that's hidden behind a wall now. Lol
