File Name: VR Room Grand Lizard (Williams 1986)

File Submitter: 3rdaxis

File Submitted: 15 May 2021

File Category: Visual Pinball VR

Author(s): 3rdaxis
Slydog43
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1986
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

A 3rdaxis and Slydog43 collaboration.
A very special thanks to JP Salas and Rosve for their VP9 versions
Thanks to the entire community including the Facebook groups for everything else during this project.

And a special thanks to Jeff "Jetsy" Millerat http://pinballpimpstencils.com/ for the new cabinet images.
 Welcome to Grand Lizard VR
From a full blown VR experience down to a simple minimal room.
Everything you will experience in this game can be switched on/off or modified to your liking.
All the way down too the rubber sleeve colors. All options are located under the "Table Options" in the script.

The lighting on this table was set with an Oculus Rift S. Since every headset is slightly different I always recommend going through the THX calibration to experience the room as intended. Under Table options in the script you can set the instruction cards to THX. Use the Day>Night cycle slider to adjust.
Also, try and use a good set of headphones for the full experience as well. This will enhance the experience dramatically and bring this environment to life. And don't forget, never look behind you...

The table crashes immediately when the VPinballX_GL is opened.

The editor does not open at all. Tested it on two PCs with different versions of VPinballX_GL (12/28/2020 + 03/15/2021).
It Is because of the four 8k images. I reduced them to 4k and now the table works.
I also have two computers with high quality equipment.

Table looks great in the jungle. :otvclap:

Vielen Dank brother, Yea I've optimized it further this morning and knocked down a lot of images that where high resolution where they didn't need to be but I kept the 8K environment map the same. Got it from 214K down to 141K so it should be fine. I guess I had a memory cash of it because it never crashed on my end, if that's how that works? lol

Just did another critical update. Too many large images were causing a lot of crashing issues.

This last update just about wraps it up for now. About time to get back to my normal life, lol. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed creating it.

Feel free to use the room as you wish. Would love to see more table implemented into this environment. Anything dragon, forest fantasy or jungle themed would work great I'm sure. Feel free to ask for any help, everything is laid out to copy/paste in the script.

As usual, since every headset is slightly different I always recommend going through the THX calibration to experience the room to it's fullest. Under Table options in the script you can set the instruction cards to THX. Use the Day>Night cycle slider to adjust.

I also HIGHLY recommend using a good set of headphones to really get the full experience, it really makes a huge difference. Yuge.

Thanks for the update. This is the first time I have played pinball in the rain and thunderstorms. I am completely soaked. :shok:

Love this table and Grand Lizard in general (Favorite table) Anyone know of a way to not just output the VR preview but output the 2D cabinet view so spectators can watch the action easier and more traditionally? It's hard to follow along their gameplay in the 3D head turning preview, thanks!
