Can someone please confirm my high-level understanding of the DOF Config Tool.

Is it basically a general repository of any table that's DOF-enabled, and if a new table is created it's added to the database.  Then, a user needs to "generate config file" and replace those files in their DOF folder, so DOF now recognizes the new table and activates that table's toys accordingly?

I'm asking this because The Addams Family is showing as a table in the Config Tool but I'm not getting the toys to fire, even though DOF works on other tables.  I was thinking that I needed to "generate config file" to ensure I had the latest file, but when I copied it into the directory DOF still didn't work.  That's a different issue though.

Is my understanding of the DOF Config Tool correct?  Thanks.

Any "new" table needs to be added by Arngrim to DOF Config Tool.

If you mean "FP" Addam's Family...

There are many FP tables added to DOF Config Tool, but they are empty configs. I asked to have them added, so that if anyone wants to add DOF to those FP tables without a config...they can do so.

The only exception are the PinEvent table configs. These are specifically for my only my own PinEvent table releases, which is why they begin with FP-PE, instead of FP:

The rest of the FP table configs can be updated ay anyone at any time, as long as the table is also updated and made available to everyone.

So if you don't see any actual data in a table's entry on DOF Config Tool...then you wont get DOF (unless its a DOFLinx modded table...then you can get normal DOF without DOF Config Tool).

Thanks Terry.  I was referring to the VPX version, as noted here:

I'll have to investigate specifically with this table why DOF isn't working for me.

And am I correct that one needs to "generate config file" and replace those files in their DOF directory every so often to ensure that the config files are up to date and contain all the tables in the repository?

I'm not using a backglass with either the coloured table or B&W table because I'm using the pup packs.  I'll try the g5k version and see if that works.

Rename the puppack and use a backglass

Yup, Wiesshund suggested to me as well.  I did try it and nope, no go.  Not sure what I could be missing here.  I did try another version of TAF and DOF still didn't work.

Is there any way I can look in the script that could give me a hint as to whether or not it's active?

I get the feeling that a modern ROM based table will have little to nothing in the script pertaining to DOF

aside from the SoundFX tags to let the table disable a sound effect if DOF is used which are not necessary
DOF itself will work fine with out those

I might be wrong, but i think it watches switch states and solenoid call backs through b2s server
so basically just needs b2s server available and the plugin enabled

but you should me the b2s setting and plugins were enabled
and of course since you showed me that, then b2s server was available because the b2s backglass was running

but since i do not have dof hardware, i am pretty useless beyond that point as i can not even set up the software in a dummy mode

which is why if i do a table that has no DOF support already, i do the table as if it was an EM, because at least the table will then work with a generic EM config

which i am hoping one is able to just copy one config to another?

Am I correct that one needs to use the DOF Config Tool (every so often) to "Generate Config" and replace those files in their DOF directory to ensure that the config files are up to date and contain all the tables in the repository?

I think you do, since new tables get added or configs revised

but i am not 100% sure

I posted under DOFLinx because there was no other equivalent forum on the VPX side, so I was hoping that "DOF" was good enough!

Do you have other games that the DOF will not work
These games should work with DOF as long as you did not change the rom Name - V2.1 and V2.2 (B&W) version.

I'm using taf_l7, but I'm also using them via an alias, i.e. AddamsMovie, taf_l7; AddamsTV, taf_l7.  Would that possibly affect it?
