Thanks so much to the VPXVR devs, noticed the new version added an input API selection dropdown and some rumble feedback on the xbox controller! Noticed it working on the 24 table when it would hit the bumpers. Got to try out some more tables to see how it works.

I added it to play around a little bit. Rumble only works for XInput right now. It is not possible for DirectInput and for some reason it is not working for SDL (but it should). Right now only bumpers rumble when XInput is selected and Rumble is set to anything but off in the settings.

The idea is to have either a generic behavior (rumble on bumper, kickholes etc.) or table specific rumble (no idea right now what would be the best way, so that it works via script, obejct triggers and is still backwards compatible).

And at least the XInput code should be easily portable to VPX 10.6 and 10.7.

I've been wishing for xbox controller rumble in VPX for a long time, as it is primarily what I use for force feedback with FX3.

Does the feedback work with a regular xbox 360 controller on non-VR VPX?

How are you all configuring your controller? Using what program?

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it. I click what I want to configure, but only my keyboard responds to button presses; pressing the button on the controller does nothing. How am I supposed to map the controller?

So the interesting thing is --- using a PinSim that emulates an xbox controller,  I get the rumble effects when I choose select Xinput.  The plunger also works then, but the accelerometer does not work for nudging.

If I select the DirectX input, the nudge and plunger work, but the rumble does not.

Is there another setting to change that will get the accelerometer to work with the Xinput?

What is the latest guys? Is it possible to use the Pinsims rumble motors and nudge at the same time meanwhile? Or should I switch to KL25Z/Pinscape?
