I know nothing about making back glass files guys... but I do have a question you experts might help with.

I noticed just recently that the older EM machines back in the day had back glass images that were actually a bit taller than they were wide. I noticed it mainly on Teacher's Pet by Williams (1965).

The image was clearly squashed down as evidenced by the awful looking clock and Williams logo.

I fixed it by making a suitable .res file and dropping it in the tables folder. Looks great now except for the wide black bars down the sides. I can live with it really, but it would be great if an overlay file was available

that copied the simple paint styles on the white back boxes of old. Just a few swirls of paint here and there.

Is this possible? Would it need to be built into the direct.b2s file itself?

You can edit the image in the dB2S file with an image editor and add the sidebars, then generate the new dB2S. It is not difficult to do.

Just read the embedded documentation in the Backglass Designer and you will see how to make this happen.

get b2s designer

import directb2s file

export the backglass image, then delete it from the project
edit or change as required the image you exported

then back in b2sdesigner, import your new backglass image

then create backglass (click backglass in ribbon)

then you can even test it while still in designer
