Metallica Premium Monsters Table Tune-Up by members of VPin Workshop Discord. This was a long road for a table mod. Work started by EBisLit with brand new playfield 4 months ago. Playfield is now straighter than the one this had originally. This meant that the whole table had to be rebuild, so the table geometry is closer to the original table now. Added Flupper inserts, new flashers, Fleep sounds, latest nFozzy physics, some new textures, countless hours of tweaks and testing.

UPDATE 106: We got some more feedback from Rik and EB how to make this play even more like the real cabinet. This ended up fine tuning slope angle, flip angles and various parameters of the table to make it a bit harder to play. LUT is now saving correctly. Tomate rendered better wireramps and Skitso finetuned lighting. Enjoy.

Is this a bug? The three target under the cross stay down when I begin a new game?

 

OK, problem solved. The error was the mtl_170hc.zip color rom. OK back to the one color version.

If I played with the mtl_180hc.zip rom VP crashed to the desktop.

Now this is the best mod out there.

If youre not happy with the less than vibrant look of the colors open the backglass option and use the extra ConSat LUT image to get the nice deeper colors

VPW with the better mod as always.

Is there a way to make the apron decals above the score cards to light up again? Thought they looked good lit.

The RGB is reversed (BGR). You can test it In Service Menu/Diag/Game/RGB. I fixed this in my mod. Feel free to use my corrected code

Thanks for the update. An improvement on many fronts. But Bigus mod is still my favorite from a "fun" point of view, as it's a bit easier and gives a more rewarding experience. Pinball is all about "multiball madness", after all

Respectfully, I’m always looking for the reverse: VP tables/mods that make things harder and more unforgiving feel closer to the real thing. Maybe I’m masochistic, but I prefer punishment over ease of play!

download ROM from stern website

 

put into zipfile named
MTL_180

the rom itself should be named MTL180.BIN
which might not be the name it downloads from stern with

 

If you want to use a color patched ROM, you will have to use carne priests sambuild of vpinmame (A stern ROM that ends with H is a color patched ROM)
Also, if that is a validly patched ROM, should it not the name be MTL_170h not MTL17h

Fantastic work !!! Its one of my favorite table, and also my pincab theme. Could you add the sparky color paint mod, like the old 4k table? I do it by myself, but it's a great option :-)

I am having the same problem would you be able to send me the rom thanks

 

 

I had the previous version and it used the 180hc rom.  I changed the script to reflect this rom and it seems to work great.
