File Name: JP's Terminator 2 (Williams 1991)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 17 Oct 2020

File Category: VPX/VPinMAME Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
Manufacturer: Williams
Year: 1991
ROM: Link to ROM
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the table by Williams from 1991.

This is my own version of the table, that's why the name "JP's..." :)
Table build from scratch and with my own graphics. Very low on resources and effects and it should play well on older hardware.
The layout should be as close as possible to the real table.

I always wanted to make this table, but there have been always very nice versions of it, but I thought I could make a table that's darker and with fire explosions all over, and metal ramps.

Another real table I own.  Great work sir!!! I noticed the second from the top HK target lamp doesn't light up during the skill shot portion of the game.  Plays spot on!

That's good the you own a real one :) I have never seen a real one :)

I'll check that light.

I forgot that light in the script :) Why I didn't catch that? I guess I'm getting old, hahaha.

I have reuploaded the table with the fix

Great looking table as always JP. I like that you tend to try to do things a bit different with either lighting or playfield redraws.

Yes, if the table has been reproduced before then I like to explore a little the table and change a few things I like better :) This table was screaming for a dark versjon, a pity I'm not a great artist and draw everything myself, but by clipping and pasting I use to get things done :)

Yeah, I love the art upgrade on it.  I just noticed that lamp wasn't flashing at all.  Love you work, sir.  Thank you so much.

Plays almost exactly like the real thing.

I'll retire from real work, you know, that thing you do and they give you money so you can buy food and do a lot of pinball tables :) So next year I won't need to do that strange thing anymore and I'll get paid for doing nothing :D

I guess I'll never retire from VP, only that from April next year I'll have a lot of more free hours :D Maybe I'll even learn Blender, hahaha

Yeah! Great news for you and us!
I encourage you to learn blender, I learn it to and it easier than it appears. The most difficult it the start, but after it's easy.
Personally, i use my Professional CAO software for modeling, I find the way how to Inventor ( 3D ) and blender ( maping and render ) work together, it's so easy to make mesh3d and texture now

I am retiring from my job in 38 days.  This last month is going to be fun!   congrats on your retirement. If your work ethic in your job matches your presence and contribution in our community, I suspect you were one heck of a worker and you will be missed!

Thanks JP, your version of this table is my prefered one, but as I'm a desktop user, I don't know how it works with a cab

Do you plan to do a version of the T3 table ?

Sure it would be a great one if it looked as nice than your T2 version :)

I'm retired from my job since the beginning of this month, and it's a great pleasure to know I won't have to go back to it anymore :)

So, good luck for your last days of hard work (and to The Loafer too !)

Congrats The Loafer and batch :) I still have to wait until April :) I have been managing about 80 servers and around 750 computers for about 20 years, so it is time that others take over :) I have spend this year teaching the two persons who will take over, and one more month and they will know everything I know, well, not all as they won't have 20 years experience dealing with Microsoft, AD and 500 users who all want their own programs :) But I think they will manage quite well :)

About T3: Just now I have no plans to make it. I think there are nice version of it (I'll have to check it later :) ). I also think I have only played groni's vp9 table, which was quite good :)
