Hi everyone thought I'd pop out of the woodwork and show you what i've been working on in my spare time.
I've gone the route of Scapino and started building it in Truespace so thanks to him for giving me a couple of getting started tutorials as i've never used Truespace before, i have however played around alot with Visual Pinball which is the 2nd step obviously once the 3d model is complete so once the model is complete it shouldn't take too long to finish it off in VP. Heres the screenie and yes it is a WIP so many things are bound to change like textures, reflections, lighting etc.

Hm, another Truespace author.

Will it be VP9 or VP8?

Well i felt like a challenge and it's a good way to learn some basic 3d modelling. VP9 i would say.

Heh, this is one of those pinball games that gets me to crack a smile! And the good thing with Truespace is that it's free, compared to $1,000, thanks to Microsoft buying out Calipari. biggrin.gif

In case that this table will be a Reel Table, i can continue my project on this. I have this one too on my list too, and itīs about 30% Finished.

My current VPX Tables I am working on:

Attack from Mars/Finished - The Walking Dead Pro/90% - The Lord of the Rings/75% - Family Guy/90% - The Simpsons Pinball Party/15%

It sure will just to add another element of a challenge for myself, but hey why not that way i get to learn lots of things. I'd be interested to see what you've done so far.
I did also start with it in vp but then i wasn't really liking the way thing's were turning out it just didn't look real enough for my liking(yeah I'm fussy) and i stumbled across scapinos work and well you know the rest, i like how i can set all the lighting with different intensities, reflections, shadows, transparencies of varying levels with truespace to get that more realistic look and yep it's quite a big extra step for a beginner but I'm enjoying it, heck i only started using truespace a couple of weeks ago and now look smile.gif
Anyone have a good high res apron shot?

Problem with completley Tables designed with reels are, that they are very cpu consuming, its an hell of a job to place the walls exactly, so they hide at the right point, and the gameplay of such an reel table feels much different than, a clean VP table do.
So the Look is one thing, but people wanne play a table too wink.gif So I have found a nice standard for myself. My first table was a reel table too, but then I realized, that they are far away from real VP Tables.

My current VPX Tables I am working on:

Attack from Mars/Finished - The Walking Dead Pro/90% - The Lord of the Rings/75% - Family Guy/90% - The Simpsons Pinball Party/15%

Well it's more of a learning experience for me with all different ways of design from doing it this way to doing it the normal way and i get to learn 2 different programs at once and make a pinball table to boot.

Coming along nicely. Added alot more light inserts textured with images from real inserts, base of the boat is in place punched out the lighting holes and have started added the lights for it, touched up the playfield image a bit more too.
