Now and then there are reports about a error message when people try to open certain backglasses: „An error occured loading the backglass file. Maybe you have to update to a newer designer version.“

 

Loserman76 suspects that the reason for this is his use of his own, special reel set, but this isn‘t likely the case: Some of this backglasses can be opened, others not.

 

I opened a few of those backglasses in question with an editor and experimented with different version numbers in the first line (<DirectB2SData Version="X.XX">), but to no avail.

 

Furthermore, version 1.26 seems to be the newest version anyway. When there is no newer version, this error message regarding a version conflict is rather dubious.

 

So, if anybody has an idea for a workaround, please post it.

"Super Soccer" (https://www.vpforums...&showfile=13678) can't be opened.

 

The similiar "300" (https://www.vpforums...&showfile=13236) opens without problems, so it can't be the reel type (or, in this case, the complicated animations) that causes the error.

I found the solution!

 

As we all know, the failing import of some backglasses is accompanied by the "Maybe you have to update to a newer designer version" message.

 

Well, that's a joke if ever there was one: The contrary is the case. You have to downgrade to version 1.1 to import these certain backglasses.
