File Name: Check Mate (Taito do Brasil - 1977)

File Submitter: jpsalas

File Submitted: 12 Feb 2019

File Category: VPX Recreations

Author(s): jpsalas
editoy
STAT
Manufacturer: Taito
Year: 1977
Permission to MOD?: Yes, with approval

Based on the first Taito table from 1977.
All graphics by editoy.
Thanks to Carlos Guizzo for the source images.
And thanks to Tio Italo for the rules and English translation.

As I understand Taito do Brasil made in 1974 a first version of this table as an EM table, with reel scoring. In 1977 made this version, but the rom is lost.

editoy has uploaded the B2S file, and STAT has fixed the table's script to work with the B2S file.

Thanks to leeoneil and arngrim for the DOF update in version 3.0.1

Looks great - and who doesn't love drop targets ??? Thank you so much Juan, Carlos, Tio and Editoy ! Looking forward to play this one, like any of the other great games you've provided for us. It always makes me sad though to read about lost roms.

From now on. I won't help anyone here at VPF. Please ask Noah why that is.

Really great Guys ! 6 Stars for your works by everyone now, and from the Past

I only did a quick Testgame, there is something missing, because JP you talked about "maybe add some extra commands" ?

Yes, maybe the table will need some extra commands for B2S, editoy will take a look at it. Other than that the table should play as close to the original as posible.

Are there mechanical sounds playing when the pop bumpers are triggered? Doesn't sound like it. If there are they're so soft i can only hear the electronic rom sound when they're hit.

Look into the script, at the bumper subs. See what sound file is triggered, go into sound manager and rise the volume of these sounds
