Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

This is a VPX conversion of Lovthatapex and Destruk's 1982 Gottlieb Caveman table. Big thanks to Lovthatapex and Destruk for their work. This table was a pain in the arse to convert, because it crashes half the time, at least on my computer. It doesn't seem to be the VPX crashing it, I think its the pinmame emulation. So if it crashes on you, just open it again, and hope it starts. once it starts, its fine. If anybody has a answer to this, please let me know. Feel free to fix it up or modify it. ;)
It needs the rom named "caveman.zip". Hopefully you have a friend who has it, because the Gottlieb roms were pulled from all of the VP sites. Quietly ask your friend through PM or hey call him and invite him over for dinner. :)

Great work, and thank you very much for the excellent VPX rendering of this table!  I had never heard of it before, it is reminiscent of Baby Pac Man or Granny and The Gators.

I had the same experience of it crashing about 3 out of 4 times I tried to start it up.  I was about to give up and a light flashed on in my head, and I remembered some people suggesting turning off Just-In-Time rendering (compiling?) when they had issues with tables crashing.  I never had any such troubles, and so I more or less forgot about the option.  I tried it since this one crashes a LOT, and lo and behold, it worked!  It helps immensely.  It does not totally stop it from crashing, but it went from only working maybe once every 4 tries to it crashing only once in about every 10 runs.  It also crashes on the way out once in a great while, but that may be unrelated, and it's VPX crashing, not VPM.  The startup crash seems to almost be cured with the option disabled.

You have to go into regedit, and go to the key "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\Freeware\Visual PinMame\caveman" and change the "at91jit" value there from 1 to 0.  This will affect this table only; since I was not having any other issues, I didn't want to change it for any other tables.

Anyway, thank you again, and I sincerely hope this fix helps you too!

A quick footnote to all this - DarthMarino has published a MOD for this table (1.1) that also seems to solve the crashing issue, mostly.  His version, both with and without the JIT switch, seems to only crash maybe one in 10 times run, so that's about the same rate I was getting with the original table and JIT=0.

So, a quick shout out to DarthMarino and his version of the table - I'm not sure what he did exactly to fix it, but whatever the secret sauce is, his version helped resolve the VPX/VPM crashing problem immensely.
