Permission to MOD?: Yes, without approval

Another stupid project I started.  Someone (I forget who) made a new backglass for black fever. When I looked up the game, I found on some old site, a vp8 version of the game. It was a total mess, never rotated or updated. I found some “decent” enough pictures and made a very quick and dirty update. I know this one could be much better, but I don’t have the time and really don’t care too much about it lol.

The version (and this version) I grabbed was made with no dmd, and no rom.  I couldn;t figure out how to connect the rom to the game, but there is hope (I assume),  there is a black fever rom on this site, so I'm guessing someone would be able to connect the table with the rom and then the backglass.  Yes, I know everyone is tired of me working on vp9 tables, but right now, my computer isn't the greatest, I have very limited time, and to be honest my skills just aren't there.  I also know this is a bit "sloppy" and I really didn't take a lot of time on the table, so no need to trash me too hard lol.

Feel free to update and make better! Credit goes to Eala Dubh who made this table back in 2004!

Im not sure if this is your next table you're working on, but if it is, I'm sorry I stepped on your toes.  That goes for anyone that may be working on this.

Thanks, i also wonder, because Wildman released a very nice BG for that - must be any reason - maybe ;)
And we cant use BG because this is a Script-based Table, not ROM-based.

Switch- and Light-IDs, are here on Page 30/31: https://www.ipdb.org..._schematics.pdf

That's what I assumed.  Unfortunately I have no idea how to convert this.  If someone has an idea and wants to go for it, have at it!

I wish I had more time to learn and build tables.  To be honest, I do these while I'm at work (shhh dont tell the boss).  I have the strange suspicion someone may be working on this table, because the backglass was made randomly.  But I won't complain if JP wants to look it over.  It really is a fun table!

same problem for both of you

this table was scripted the same way a future pinball table is scripted.

its not using a rom  --> not using PINMAME  -->   can't use a db2s file.

you will not be able to "convert" this table   you have to do a full rebuild.

the switch numbers are easy to map,  but the Light IDs and the Solenoid mapping is not in the manual

if you go to page 31 in the manual,  all those #(A,B,C)   light IDs need to be converted to PINMAME light IDs

On page 33 you can see the Solenoid schematics but they don't match the PINMAME IDs.   if you download a similar Playmatic table (same year)

such as Attack

https://www.vpforums...&showfile=11561

Kicker --> sol 1 --->  manual 5A

Ball Release --> Sol 5  --> manual 2A

good luck with the rest

And we still haven't got a table to run the backglass, yet? VP9 or VPX would suffice. Playmatic tables sere /are a nice diversion from the mainstream.
Wish I had the competencies to script the table for a backglass, but alas, I'm just a tweaker, not a fixer - upper.

Cheers,

Nursie.

2 choices

1) best choice, redo the table as a ROM based table
Now, this may not be as bad as it sounds

Based on what Stat said, i tried to look at the schematics for attack and compare to black
non parle espana but they were almost identical, minus a few lamps from what i could tell

Now of course the table really really needs to come forward into VPX

But i have attack running, and playing what i think is correctly, using blacks ROM, and blacks directb2s backglass
so that makes it hopeful

2) 2nd choice
easy but not really the best route i think
have the table load b2s.vbs (cause it will need it)

Change the backglass to b2s controlled rather than pinmame (simple, click a button0
edit the lamps to have b2s id's
add the b2s commands to the script to turn them on and off

change the leds to b2s
add the b2s commands in the script to change the score, ball, match and credits

easier perhaps from one standpoint, but it still leaves it a romless table running in VP9

If you feel the need to empty your wallet in my direction, i don't have any way to receive it anyways

Spend it on Hookers and Blow

I kind of smashed the ROM into the black table

and wired up some of the switches etc

and aside from being a disgusting mess of contradicting ROM and romless scripts

it seems like it would function, maybe time for nursie to try a major renovation?

If you have some patience I'm working on the vpx rom version of this table.
I have a new playfield image and the original manual.
I don't know how long it will take, I have all the switches and targets mapped and rebuilt.
Next will be coding the gate and the lights.
Any help as usual is always appreciated

Oh nice, new art too? cool.
the lights seem that you could copy a large amount of them from attack?

as far as the lamp ID's

there are a few that black has that attack does not, might take a bit of trial and error there
they appear to have same solenoids

wonder if @Toxie would know anything about converting the lamp IDs?
