Hi, I've been stalking here for a while and fell in love with virtual pinball cabinets so I decided to build my own.
I've been building it on and off for about two years and it is pretty much finished now. I might create custom decals / side art later on.

I build it mostly of plywood and it has a wooden frame as well. The leg is triangle shaped and is detachable. "Lockdown bar" is made of wood but coated with leather (I really like the feel of it).
I also 3D-printed decals on top corners of back box. Might print a bit different design later on and maybe some more decals.

Here is a pretty bad quality video of it (youtube).

And yes... It is inspired by VegaPin cabinet which looks awesome!

Specs:
40" Playfield TV
23" monitor for backglass
17" monitor for dmd

Logitech t20 speakers
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
GPU: GTX660 2GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3
HD: 120GB SSD

Zebsboards Plunger kit (V2 I think).

Buttons: side flipper buttons, esc, coin, start, and ball launch + plunger.

VPX tables run mostly from 60 to 220 fps. Few have dipped down to 50 fps.

It feels pretty smooth to play and I think there isn't too much delay even tho the specs might not be latest and best (should be pretty easy to upgrade tho).

I haven't played a lot real pinballs so I might not be right guy to judge the delay.

I've also bought nearly whole Pinball FX collection and it runs very smooth. Plunger doesn't work on Pinball FX for now tho. I should take some time to find out what to do for it.

I've been struggling with Lyme disease for four years now and it's a huge thing and confidence boost for me to get this thing finished. I've had a lot of fun (but also struggle) building it. :)

I'm thinking about selling the cabinet tho. Can anyone give me an estimate how much would be reasonable to ask for this? I could custom design stickers/sideart for the buyer. Or maybe I will just keep it myself... Let's see.

I live in Finland and I haven't seen many VP cabinets / hobbyists around here.

Feel free to tell what you think about it or ask me anything. :)

Wow, that looks great! Good work!

I'm been thinking about going a more modern route with mine as it's going to cost just as much to buy retro products. I'm aiming for a piece of high end furniture and gloss finish.

From the side it reminds me of the duck from the Crossy Road game.  Just missing the beak coming out of the back of the backbox....   :tongue3:

(just trying to ad some humor, not insult)

Cool concept though.  I would never get past the "duck" look now that I've seen it that way, but I love the new style idea and clean implementation.  Good job!

Cool! Nice build! And yeah, the first thing that came to my mind was it looked inspired by VegaPin. I love modern takes on virtual cabinets.

Now THAT looks like a duck...  Or a chicken with the 2 separate legs.   :P

Hi matiast89,

Intresting looking build, i was considering that desing too, a while ago, but then decided to build a standard cab instead.
Nice to see something unconventional, mine is a bit tweaked, a cab with kinect.

Thanks! I recommend that. I had good times working on this project and designing it yourself is great learning experience. Gloss finish would look great! Good luck.  :otvclap:

Thanks dude! Where is your machine located? If you know anyone around here in Finland who would be interested buying this, please let me know.
