File Name: Black hole (Taito do Brasil 1981)

File Submitter: kalavera

File Submitted: 13 Jun 2018

File Category: dB2S Animated Backglasses

Author(s): Kalavera
Manufacturer: Taito
Year: 1981

I made this backglass at the request of Carlosguizzo, who was the one who provided me with the photographs of very good quality, the table in which it is used is the same as that of gottlieb, there is an excellent version of ciberpez here:

http://www.vpforums....&showfile=12893

to be able to use it with the rom that better resembles the one of Taito they must edit the script in the line 86 being of this form

RomSet = 4

Rom download here:

http://www.vpforums....s&showfile=1014

In this way they will use the rom without sound and with 6 digits that is necessary for this version.
From now on thanks to cyberpez for his great table, to Carlos Guizzo for all his contributions, and I hope enjoy it especially my brothers of Brazil.

stefan the table is exactly the same, not even the apron is different, Carlos explained to me that this table was completely imported, and that they only manufactured the backglass in Brazil.

So what were the differences if any besides the backglass?  Fascinating stuff!

Actually the only difference is the Backglass, the table is the same, because in Brazil they imported it unarmed, they armed it and they only added a different backglass, but everything else was the same, only that the Taito version did not have music.

Only the backglass is different. At the time, this table was imported from Gottlieb by Fipermatic, which was acquired by Taito in 1982. This table was only assembled in Brazil, and except from the backglass and the cabinet, all its components were provided by Gottlieb. Even the apron has Gottileb's logo, take a look: https://www.ipdb.org...ine.cgi?id=4577
And by the way, Volcano was exactly the same case.

He is recommending

blkholea ROM

GameTronik - Black Hole (PinMAME)

though i guess blckhole or blkhole2 would work also as they are both 6 digit scores

You would have to edit the backglass LEDs to be 7 digit and resize them to use blkhole7, though i guess blkhole7s would be
more correct? as it does not have the votrax voice and stuff, which i guess the imported table did not?

In order to reduce costs Fipermatic did not import the Z80 soundboard, so this table did not reproduce voices.

I do not know how much the table cost back then
But i know how much the Z80 was, i have an old one for the TRS80, and the price tag on the box is like Wait, excuse me?
Expensive tech back then.
