I want to audit the NON ROM controlled sound effects for a VPinMAME table, but without all sound effects produced by the ROM.

I have found that from ime to time, ROM sounds will inadvertently drop out till I restart VP. So there must be a way to temporarily disable them.

Thanks

In audio options menu tab In the editor there are options for mechanical sounds vs. rom sounds. I’m pretty sure you can set relative volume sounds here. I’m not at the cab, but seem to remember options to accomplish what you’re looking for, wrd.

Run the table, press F1 and remove the mark in "Use Sound". Next time you restart the table the rom will be quiet :)

... or put in "Table1_Init" this

.Games(cGameName).Settings.value("sound") = 0

0 means sound disabled, 1 enabled.

When I do my SSF mods I use F12 and then enter -32 and reset with F3  .....the table then plays with very quiet ROM sounds so that I can hear whats going on, but not have them effect my mechanical sound audit.

You could also enable the fast flips debug mode to enable the flippers and then throw a ball on the table to play in attract more or just throw balls at thing to hear them
