A member seems to indicate that his favorite table is only in VP8.
That seems no good,it must be made to VP9 to satisfy him.
lol i guess.

VP 9 introduces some new features and editor options that makes for a better experience for me. I have a lot of tables that will only run on VP 8 but that doesn't take away from what I like about VP 9. When Phoenixx finishes his next Visual Pinball installer pack, it will be a smooth operation where you don't have to open the seperate versions of VP to play a table. biggrin.gif

I could have been smart, but I never learned anything by being smart!

VP9 has really improved flipper physics, which makes playing the tables more fun for me. I don't like the VP9 nudge and it needs some ATI graphic card work, but I will probably not update any of my VP8 table versions anymore as VP9 is that much better of a playing experience and VP8 supposedly won't be updated anymore....

So once again Bluto, the "LOL" is on you. rofl.gif

I have ATI x1650 but never thought of it as affecting VP9 tables.
After all it's the latest in Graphic cards.I JUST USE THE DRIVERS.
Not the Catalyst Control. They recommend it for me.

Hi Bob!!!!
I download your VP9 Daffy Table and found the flippers to go invisible when the "Flipper Up" Key is pressed.
I changed the "Flipper Options" to 4,8 and 32 and everything now works OK.

PS,,,,,,,,
I have also noticed many changes
to a VP8 Table VS. the same table played in VP9. I have much work to learn VP9 smile.gif

Seeing as VP 9 doesn't work on my computer, I'm gonna have to go with VP8.

In the VP9 version of Daffy Duck, the flippers are already set to 4, 8 and 32, so are you sure you were trying the right table version with the right VP version? smile.gif

Exactly the same for me. I have an ATI (Radeon) graphic card, too (and Vista).

Could you explain what you mean for just using the drivers not the CC, please? Sorry if this is a dumb question...

In Tales of the Arabian Nights, I'm experiencing the opposite problem: the left flipper (only) is invisible when at rest, it becomes visible when raised.
So, I have to change the flipper options... what am I supposed to do?

Undoubtedly VP9 is much better. So I forgot most of the tables in VP8. The gameplay is much better in VP9. smile.gif

If they work THAT IS.Where are the files needed like Scripts and different roms ?
I have a few working M Madness. It's better then 8.1 and has great sound that needs
no fancy add ons,just my Audigy 4 . cool.gif

You're right. wink.gif Yes I noticed what you said. In my opinion, only by the fact that physics has improved is already a very strong point of VP9. You can adjust the table physics also the ball that you consider more close to reality. I don't know all the innovations of VP9, this is just my feeling on the comparison of both. I think a few tables in VP8 are so easy to play that soon I lose interest (the ball seems to levitate on a few tables) and I can't adjust them as easily as VP9. Not to mention the sound like you mentioned. wink.gif
So I think VP9 rules! smile.gif

VP9 is great but as stated earlier the nudge needs fixing.

What part of nudging are you referring to?

If left unadjusted, the nudging is bad, since it is designed for cabinet use, but with a minor script adjustment, the nudging for desktop play can be made to feel very close to real.

Give HS2 v1.0.3 a shot. I'm striving for an even better nudge system for T2.

On most VP9 games when I nudge it really knocks the ball over. This is especially true when the ball is headed straight down the middle, where a nudge will always keep it in play. I wish I could have this luck on a real machine.

Well,,,, I think that I will stay with VP8 for now. It plays all of the really old tables from IR Pinball.
Those tables are most of my favorites. I also have hundreds of VPM Tables that work with roms.
I like the Table Collection I have on my Hard Drive.

VP9 has too many changes for me. I really do not need to download many of the same tables with VP9 Updates.
that I already have in VP8.

Well said, just update VP8.Don't mess with them as a VP9.
I'm tired of VP9 errors from poorly made VP9's junping and actuall
AFM with no flippers. Those days are long gone.
I shall delete my copy.

From a physics perspective VP9 is better, from a graphics perspective VP9 is also better so IMO overall VP9 is better. I however like VP8 as well and with Front-ends like VP-Man you can enjoy both without any hassle at all. So for me it's ridiculous for someone to say(as a player) that I'll stick to one version over the other, especially when you can tell the VP-Man front-end what version of VP to launch when a game is selected.
