Hi all,

I installed the direct output framwork last week and my toys are working fine. I'm using the ledcontrol.ini from the DOF tool.

But since I have DOF installed my animated backglass is not behavong as expected anymore. directb2s Backglass will work, when I launch my table from the VP editor, but when I launch from Hyperpin, only the backglass video is displayed during game. I would be very grateful for anyone pointing me to a post with related topic or providing some ideas! It would seem to be that the backglass server is not called anymore, when running hyperpin, rather only the backglass video is displayed, which I so far had displayed in the hyper pin table selection menu?

Situation:

DOF (DirectOutput R2 V0.8.5307.01702) is installed in "C:\Direct Output" (Shortcut pointing to this folder from C:\program files(X86)\Visual Pinball\Tables\plugins)

B2SBackglass Server 1.3.0.2 is installed in tables folder

I have "White Water.vpt" and "White Water.directb2s" in tables folder, and as stated animated backglass (and all toys) work fine, when I launch from editor, but only toys work since DOF installation, when I launch from Hyperpin.

Windows 7 Professional and VP 9.0.2

Greeting from Thomas, Germany

PS: After nearing four years build time, my cabinet is finally nearing completition! (Three children, job... you know the story :-)

Congratulations to your nearing completion! :)

You may have a look over here: http://www.vpforums....showtopic=32929

Also you can read more about hyperpin inside your hyperpin file path in the hyperpin-help-file.chm. (Hyperpin, getting started, folders.)

Hi, I checked out the suggestions (threads and help file) but could not find anything that seems to narrow down the issue. If you or anyone knows why direct2b backglass work when launching from editor, but does not work anymore launching from hyperpin (since DOF installation) I would be most grateful. Also am willing to provide screens and files, if anyone can point me to information needed.

Many thanks in advance,

Thomas

Hi thanks, for the suggestion. Pretty busy with my family at this time (3 small kids), sorry for the late reply. I will certainly check out your recommendation.

Well, it did take time, but I am finally adressing this issue. I wonder if anyone can reply 1.5 years later :-D!

I've been reading up on the newest version of fplaunch and it seems fplaunch will be able to run B2S.exe files. At this point I am only using *.directb2s files for my animated backglasses, so I am sceptical, whether fplaunch will work there. I found this statement from blur (I think the creator of fplaunch):

"

this can't be done from fplaunch since fplaunch is not launching directb2s backglass, it is launched from b2s server (like uvp server)

fplaunch is only launching b2s exe, but that also can be launched from table

and about this exe herweh or anybody else with experience in vp table scripting - is there a way for table to close that b2s exe on table exit from"

So that makes me wonder, if I ought to find a way to change my directb2s files to exes, especially, when there is not exe version for that backglass on the web (e.g. Super Mario Bros, Medieval Madness)?

I am going to try to remove all backglass files from hyperpin for Super Mario Bros in a moment and will see if the b2s then is loaded, as the table launches from hyperpin. It works fine when I launch it from visual pinball editor. => Result: Backglass just is blank in Hyperpin (as expected), and remains blank, when table is launched from hyperpin. So maybe there is a way I can check whether the B2S Server is started at all, when I launch the table from Hyperpin?

I can't help you fix your issue but I can assure you that you CAN use Hyperpin with your back glasses

hey there, so it sounds like your b2s is not being pushed on top, and is actually in the back, i bet if you alt, tab and brought the form1 up front you would see it, i would install this custom b2s used for pinup systems,

BS2 Server

Current Version: 1.3.0.3 “with PinupSystem B2S Custom update added”

This update to B2S server has some VERY helpful updates added to it. It is HIGHLY recommended that you install this!

Changes are:

- new default is to draw directb2s backglass to 'back'. New checkbox option in B2S settings GUI to 'bring to front' for certain tables.

this is what will fix your issue... when your b2s is up, right click on the picture, there will be a check box to bring to front,  this will fix your issue. make sure its ticked

Download from:

https://github.com/n...kglass/releases

Replace the old files with the new files from the ZIP using 7zip to extract files so they will be UNBLOCKED!!!

Then Run as Admin the B2SBackglassServerRegisterApp.exe to re-register it!

Hi all, thank you again for your support! After several long months of no-pinball due to life happening (kids, work etc) I have finally got my system up und running again. I ended with crashing my system two years ago and finally found time to reinstall all. My B2S.Server was in the background. I was able to solve this by running a table from the VP9 Editor, which brought up the backglass just fine. Somehow this has been stored now for all tables. When I start from Hyperpin (didnt get pinballX to run yet), it works fine! Thank you again, if very late ;)

There has been some changes happening since 2019... and the old pages still exists...

The B2S Backglass Server project is now under the vpinball umbrella on github and there is also a wiki active to explain all changes.
