X-Files Alien Baby 3D model by Dark

 

Resources provided by sliderpoint and jim5six,  Jim owns the table so he was a huge help in making this happen, can't thank him enough for his help and contribution!  The FP models by ROM were also used as reference and we are still using the same tube that encases the Alien so thanks ROM!  The tube is pretty simple really and is fairly well done so it seemed like a waste of time to redo it.  My new alien model was my first ZBrush project and what I did was made a high detail model and used it for projection mapping to generate normals map to give the low poly version of the model the illusion of much higher detail.  There are also a number of texture swaps for when the red lights come on.

Cool, thx dark.. I didn't even know you were working on an updated alien model.. It should fit in perfect with the wip randr and I have been working on.. :-)

Model looks awesome!! Glad to see you guys working on this... I had done an early conversion of JP's table... But gave up for lack of this exactly... ICP/randr table looks great... Can't wait to play one of my favs!!

lol, so true, I'm sure you know the reasons I don't post wips anymore, yours looks way better than mine anyway! :-)

the version I was working on isn't even close to 95%, carry on with your build as it looks awesome! I'll abandon my project no need for two versions.. :-) I've had little to no time for making VP tables anyway lately..

Would a public spreadsheet that everyone could type in what table they are working on next to their screen name be helpful?  The advantage over multiple WIP threads is that it would be a central location to quickly see if anyone else is already working on the table, and hopefully avoid overlaps... also, if someone has resources, they could quickly see if anyone is working on that table to donate them.

 

Just thought I would throw it out there as a thought/possible solution.

Haha... I like the surprise tables as well... I just feel bad that somebody would put a bunch of time into a table and then find out someone had just released the same one.
