Am I missing something? We can do color DMD if we go to a Dot Matrix DMD display but not with a full VGA monitor? Is there no way to customize the colors of a monitor based DMD beyond the standard few choices for the entire thing?

You should be able to do the same level of colour detail on a monitor as on a colour DMD directly... is there a particular game or rom that you believe that not to be the case?

vpinmame lets you enable 4 different colors for each rom.   here was the initial discussion

I have an issue where I set 4 colors (while playing a table F1) and get the usual message that it will take effect when the table is started again and it does, I can play other tables then go back to the table I changed the colors and all good.

But after I shut down my cab then restart it load the table I changed the colors the DMD is back to single color orange again, any suggestions why it is losing the color change on shutdown/restart? I'm using Pinball X frontend.

These values are stored in the registry. Seems that you can´t write to it. Please run as administrator for testing or check your registry
